So I recently bought the game and I really, really like what I see. Granted all anyone had to say to sell me on this game was 'It's Total Annihilation with better graphics' but that's beside the point. Anyway, I was wondering if there is any word on more match options in the works. For example I play against bots exclusively (too bad to even consider human opponents) and would like some Victory conditions options, since the AI Commanders have a habit of An Hero-ing my base just as things get interesting. Very frustrating, as I honestly am a fan of really long games that I play over multiple saves. I'd also like options that turn off things such as nukes and air units, like there was in the Supreme Commander games. Speaking of saving, is there also any word on a save feature for single player matches? I have no idea what's in the works for this game since I checked the Kickstarter a couple years ago and while I understand that the game is still in development I kinda expected there to be more options. Anyway, I'd appreciate getting caught up on what's going on, and I'm excited to see this game on the right path!
There will be save games. It's covered in the FAQ thread stickied in this forum. As for gametypes, I do believe Uber is planning a few more. Many many months ago, they ran a thread asking for ideas and suggestions. A few comments from Uber indicated that they were very heavily debating which ones to include in the launch. But on the topic of the AI, I believe that Sorian has stated that he hasn't put in self-preservation into the AI yet.
Yes im also hoping for some more sandbox style options in the lobby area eventualyl where you can disable/enable certain game features like No Nukes / No Naval / no Air Units ect.. just for a more richer and deeper gameplay so you can have matches that only play a certain way if you wanted to, or for people that think certain things are over-powered they could just disable them if they didn't want them very much like we could in the SupCom games which was one of its best features in my book. Nothing to worry about with the AI, its going to get much much much better....Its already pretty damn good to me
Note, if the AI thinks it has no chance of winning, it will rush you with its commander and go out in blazing glory.
Thanks for the info guys, glad to hear that some of my concerns are already being worked on and some of those are being put in via ways I was surprised to hear! I just hope some of these features get put in soon, the fun value of PA is starting wane on me since I can't save any of my games or have them last long enough to satisfy my long-running game desires.
Rivenworlder, I recommend giving it a go against other players, most people I've played with lately are relatively new to the game, and even if they aren't, with the different builds game play is more relatively new since old units/structures get reworked and placed elsewhere and changed up a bit. Also it can be so much more since there are people you can actually communicate with. AI are heartless bastards trying to eat you up.
