Unit icons and selection boxes not showing up

When I select some units, I don't see selection boxes around them. Also, when I zoom out I can't see any unit icons. The only icons I see on the planet are the green metal deposit markers. Also, when I am starting the game, I can't see the spawn point markers.

In my Coherent_UI.log, I get a lot of errors related to loading various UI icons:

I play on a i5 laptop (3.1 Ghz) with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M (1GB dedicated memory) and 8 GB RAM. I updated my video drivers and tried reinstalling the game from scratch but it didn't help.

Change your settings in game options under the UI tab will fix this for you.

If not, theres someting else going wrong.

These are my current settings. I don't see what I could change since everything seems enabled to me:

Disable Cinematic mode.

Let do some digging for you, you might have to delete your setting file to take it back to default.
