So, this is one of the reasons we are careful about releasing builds.. Build we're testing tonight, and it allowed an unlimited number of armies.. Oops! Sounds cool, but there's a reason we limit this.. it's destroying sim and network performance of course. But cool to watch.. All those separate white armies are different armies.. Yeesh!
Sometimes, in order to achieve the ultimate victory, you have to face the ultimate enemy. Bring it on.
I think you could get ai to run faster on the server if you just secretly hired matiz and had him play as the ai in every game on ubernet at once. I guess you would still be bottlenecked by the network though...
You developers have your reasons to not giving us this *hust* "bug". But we'll the 40 player games for a little while worked really well for us, compared. Or is one of your servers exploded while we have done that?
Even though the big games weren't lagging a ton, the other games on the servers running them were. Uber needs to put systems in place to make servers decide how many players they can accommodate instead of just doing 6 games before they can let us have that again.
the only problem with 40 player free for all's. not enough different colors. how we will get past this?
Hey can this thread be something ongoing? For after the smoke clears from the latest dev build take a quick screencap, for the lols mostly but I enjoy a good bug hunt.
@garat @BradNicholson You guys should make a thread just to show off the interesting bugs you guys find. I think we'd all find it cool to see the little problems you guys find and we don't usually get to laugh at.
FYI guys, all you have to do to get 15 players in a game currently is the following: Make a team game 5 teams, 2 players on each team add 5 more armies (they will each be 1 player teams You will now host a lobby with 10 teams, 5 with 1 player max and 5 with 2 players max for a total of 15 players. AI will fill unfilled spots.
I played a bit on overpopulated moon against AI. Its kind of amusing, would be much better if commanders did not walk right into mordor. I did it to see how good/bad AI really is, as overpopulating limit its early expansion. Matches were kind of random AI walking until 2-3 AI out of 9 were alive.
