I understand that there are some technical issues with the per-loader, but can we at least get the ready buttons back?

Why would a ready button not make sense anymore?

It's just something new to get used to. You're used to having everything locked-in pre-lobby and asking people to ready up so you can actually play. Now the host controls the lobby live, and can just change settings while chatting with people about options then launching whenever they want.

The preloading is returning, it just has to be reimplemented in the rebuilt lobby. This does happen from time to time as systems get rebuilt, please be patient and don't bemoan removed features as permanently lost (i.e. thread title). Some times to need to take a step back before you can take a flying leap forward.

Pre-loading will be added back in today's build.

Not sure how I feel about the removal of the ready button... but I kinda like it.

The greatest thing is changing lobbies on the fly. That is so awesome.

Removing a "I am actually ready to start the game now" button is just bad.

Pre-loading is tremendously useful for people with lower-end computers., or for playing huge systems. Having your victory determined by loading time is not fun.

SOON(TM). But yes, I believe Uber wanted to release the update ASAP, like today or in the next few days?

    Back on topic.

Do we really need a ready button?

I liked having a ready button, but I think a force ready button for the host would be good if we get the ready button back.

To me the ready button is always a good thing no matter it's form, for the reason Colin gave.
A force ready after x seconds is a good compromise, but even without it the system works well. Since early beta i had maybe 2 or 3 cases where it would have been usefull.

Uber said they're working on a hotfix for this morning to deal with a few bugs. I'd guess it'll come out before their livestream, so hopefully within the next hour

I think we should have a merger of the two systems.

We should have a ready button so everyone in the lobby knows that everyone is ready. For example, if I'm playing a clan match but run to the restroom before the match starts, I don't want the game to start. But at the same time, if someone is just trolling the lobby and is sitting there and won't ready up, the lobby host should be able to kick that player and/or start without them.

So I say we have both.

A ready button, and a start button.

Scratch that. New build was just posted.

Doesn't say whether it adds the pre-loader. But I imagine it'll at least fix the loading hang that we've been dealing with.

"Whenever the host wants" is not the same as "whenever everyone else wants".

I've revised my original statement, I'm now with the "restore ready" fleet.

I prefer the host be in charge of readying the game. Maybe an indicator light when people are ready to start the game.

I never liked having to wait for some guy who went AFK in the lobby and everyone is waiting for him. Why join the lobby if you are going to leave.

Now i understand if something is urgent and you have to go... but leave the lobby if that is the case.
