Just one thing. If there is any chance the patch can be release THIS week, please don't.

There is a very big 1v1 tournament and there are many players preparing to show off their best and I believe the new patch would ruin most people's preparation.

There are just 2 days left to the tournament, I hope if there was a plan to release it this week that it can be postponed till the next one.

    Thank you Uber!

PS: I am not representing the tournament officers here, this is my personal wish as a competitor in the tournament.

What about the people that are not in the tournament? I can understand readers are coming from. what about the people whom backed and per-ordered in order to see and be involved with the development process.

They will probably release it when it's done. The tournament could be even more fun with all new balance and features anyway. Hopefully there are no big bugs though.

Hear hear... I hardly think Uber should change their development schedule just cos some dudes organised a tournament.

Yeah, that's really true. Everybody who are not in the tournament ( only around 60 people are in the tournament) should not get a disadvantage because someone announced a tournament, this is not fair. And yes maybe some strategies will be destroyed, but you are only a good player if you can improvise, not to have one strategy.

I'm not really concerned about the strategies thing - I can adapt pretty quickly - Im more concerned about unforeseen bugs. They do tend to happen no matter how thorough you are during playtests and debugging.

If they gonna release it Friday ... Monday release would make no different to a player that is not in the tournament.

They don't like to release on Fridays anyway. It would either be today or next week.

While you are kind if right, I wouldn't want everything turned upside down right before the tourney. Also releasing this week would mean releasing before the patch is hammered out. I don't expect the patch before the end of february.

For what it's worth, I very much doubt there'll be one this week. Until Uber ship the new launcher, it means everyone is forced to the new patch. Neutrino posted yesterday that they had a fair few stability issues that they wanted worked out before a patch, so that makes a release today unlikely. And, as already mentioned, they don't like releasing on Fridays.

The issue I have is people thinking that tournament is a valid reason for the a build to be delayed. Development wise is understandable but tournament is not. The game is still under development so nobody should expect stability they should expect performance issues, instability, game crashing bugs, etc.

    To quote myself:
"I don't understand why people require stability in a game still in development. They should know that there's going to be stability issues, performance issues, bugs, etc. Before going into a game in early access and what that means. It's simply just boggles my mind. Personally I wanted to see and be involve in the development process. That means understanding stability issues and other things when they arise. People should expect fluidity from build to build also nothing is done everything is still being worked on. There is only room for improvement from here."

I mostly agree, but they still shouldn't intentionally go in the wrong direction.

I'm not advocating that going the wrong direction. What I'm saying is people should understand that the game is fluid at the moment and if they can't handle that they should leave and come back when it's released or more stable.

    To quote myself:
"They are currently working on optimization but the problem with doing that right now that they can undo those optimization if there is a lot of changes in a build. They are currently working on network optimization and general performance improvements. For the people that are leaving there probably don't understand what a early access or alpha and beta involves."

patch dropped like the day before the last tourny I was in. In that patch they moved Orbital to T1. You know what we all did to compensate?

Sooner they get out the patch, the sooner the community can discover bugs(especially over the weekend), the sooner the devs can hammer them out. Tourney be damned. I really couldn't care. I know it may be inconvenient for that small sliver of the community. If it really is that much of a hindrance, you can push your tourney back.

There's a tournament being planned every two weeks all the way through August. It's not up to Uber to work their release schedule around this kind of stuff, so I think that "Don't release the patch because of the tournament" is fairly poor reasoning. However, if the patch is gonna cause more problems than it fixes, then it should probably be held back (as much as I'm really looking forward to the new toys). Minor bugs like the Uber cannon not working properly on super small (under about 150 radius) planets isn't much of an issue, but severe lag in reasonably sized games would be. Maybe the AI is to blame? I know in other RTS's I've played, an AI player puts a much bigger strain on the game than human players. They tend to build more than a human would and they use extra processing power. When I play without AI's, I get much better performance in even long games on multiple planets than I do on a single planet with the AI.

We'd get a buggy game if they released it sooner.

Everyone hates when the game crashes or you lose a match because of a bug.

Honestly, I've stopped paying PA these last few weeks, just because there are so many issues i've had with the current build, that after 20 mins into the game, it becomes unplayable. I can also play with 3 players max at a time, due to massive lag otherwise. I would prefer to play the new build ASAP...
