A lot of the themes of the original Robocop seem to have vanished in the remake. I think it could be a good action film but nothing outstanding.
The announcement trailer was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, second to the Sonic Boom announcement trailer that had Skrillex.
I'm actually more excited to see the Lego movie. I loved the original Robocop, but this remake... my expectations are rock bottom. That black Mass Effect looking armor, that one human hand, Lewis is a man now, satire probably gone, Robo-Cycle... it's like they had no idea what they were doing.
I actually have heard good things about the lego movie. Which sort of begs the question, when did people start enjoying lego related things? I swear I played one of the games years ago and thought nothing of it yet I hear plenty of people talking about them like their classics. Thought they were just for kids......and now people like the movies?
Waiting on a movie review from Movie Bob tomorrow at noon over at the Escapist, his favorite movie is the original Robocop, so based on his reviews I'll decide if I go or not. But the movie did receive some positive praise from io9, so optimism rising. http://io9.com/the-robocop-remake-will-shock-you-being-being-so-damn-a-1521566212
I really don't get what people have against black armour. The original armour was ripped out of an American Roswell 80s-style diner anyhow, blue-tint metal with a weird gloss finish. It's just what's popular at the time. The LEGO Movie is going to be fantastic, but people are way too up in arms about Robocop especially having not seen it.
