Hey I just wanted to request that 1600x900 (16:9 obviously) be added to the resolution list. If you guessed my monitor has a native resolution of 1600x900, you'd be right on the money. I'm running 1440x900 right now and it's not too bad but I do have the whole black bars business going on. Thanks! MNC is a lot of fun. I've been playing Support so far and I love it.
Add it yourself; it's easy! In My Documents, you will often see a My Games folder where settings and saves are stored. In there, you should see a file tree that looks like; Code: \UnrealEngine3\HostileGame\HostileGame\Configs\ open up the file HostileEngine.ini and then look for the section beginning with [SystemSettings] (you can use CTRL+F to find it quickly). Once you've found that section, you should see two lines of code looking something like; Code: ResX=1280 ResY=800 All you have to do is change those to whatever you feel like and you're done! While you're at it, you can tinker and adjust the other settings there to selectively turn up (or down) the graphics candy to whatever you so choose.
The problem with changing the config file is that MNC will revert to something on its list any time you make any change in the in-game settings, even if you just rebind a key. It would be nice if the game would detect all your supported desktop resolutions in addition to the game's defined resolutions. I think it's possible in the Unreal engine because Mass Effect did it - my weird custom defined resolutions showed up in the game's drop-down list. I currently play MNC at 1280x1050 by editing the config file
Even if you set it to read-only, the game will change resolution immediately when you apply any new settings
I thought my post about "read-only" implied that changing the settings from the menu would no longer be an appropriate option, sorry for not being clear enough.
I have a 1600x900res monitor, I Just set the resolution to 1440x900, hit okay, restart the game and it goes to 1600x900.
yeah, im a bit pissed 1360*768 doesnt work properly, and looks skewed. its been a long time since i've played a shooter without dynamic resolutions. but i can cope with 1024*768 if i have to.
