This is an odd bug. And I'm still exploring the exact circumstances of it. Sometimes, when one starts a match the screen will be black. It will be entirely impossible to see the game world or anything in it because planetary annihilation is having one of its moments. That's fine, one can handle that by restarting the game and rejoining the match... Except when planetary annihilation has a sulk and effectively kicks me out of the match. It's like this, I rejoin a match that had suffered the aforementioned black screen of annoyance aaaand...it doesn't work. I still can talk to people, and I'm listed as a player in the top left. I can even see the planets, but I'm entirely unable to see units, sight radiuses or buildings or select anything even the commanders by pressing C. The game is entirely unwilling to let me play the match and have fun. This is extremely annoying especially with how long lobby waits can be before getting into a game. To effectively have planetary annihilation say "oh you were looking forward to an exciting match of destruction and mayhem? well yoink, you can't have that." It's like the game is suddenly a petty saturday morning cartoon villain with a moustache.
If you playing on Windows check my signature upload your DxDiag.txt here. Also make sure that you only press "ready" when planet generation indicator (red cirle in upper right corner of screen) turns green.
I don't know if this'll help. But what the hey it's not a big ask. I hooked on the DX Diag Info. Also, what about when it never turns green even when given half an hour?
