Just started a boxing Cardio class at my University and its turning into a test of will power. It's refreshing because I did boxing early last year in Pennsylvania, just not at this pace and difficulty. Any one else Working out this year?
I went to the gym the other day with my mate who gyms religiously every day for the last like 5 years. Needless to say I am still stiff as hell. 4 days later, gawd!
I occassionally do pushups, bicycle to and from work a few days (11 miles one way), and a bit of vaults and fluid movement exercises sort of like martial arts. Not what most dudes do, but I say I exercise more without trying than most others.
Summoning @BradNicholson . For me, I try and walk at least five miles a day.. usually more in the summer. Gym workout is just a selection of various crossfit lifting routines, plus usually 20 - 40 minutes of hard cardio. My preferred workout, however, is cycling. I have a trek hybrid, and when the weather is nice, I usually do 35 to 50 mile rides around Seattle's various lakes.
We need to trade cycles, mine is a rusty crudbucket I found somewhere and is highly resistent to pedalling and has no gears as the wires went bad and I took the system off entirely.
Often have a book on my mini when I walk, but often will just listen to music. I have a Fitbit, so my goal is 11k steps or more, so it's not always in a single sitting, but I'll usually go for a fourty minute or so walk at lunch or late afternoon, which eats usually 3 to 4 miles of it.
It's meditative.. gets my blood moving a bit more, but mostly, allows time for either thinking, or not thinking, depending on what's most needed that day.
Yah.... it really is I've been putting the treadmill on an incline and walking at least a mile uphill. Gotta start somewhere I guess
I think our university knows that all us game design and programming and computing students are lazy as hell, so they put all our classes on the highest floors of the building they can. So I guess that's as much as I work out XD
Working in hightech since 1994 and games since 1998, I can tell you that it's really easy to get zero exercise if you don't pay attention. If I could tell my younger self anything, it would have been to stay in workout routine at a much younger age.. Well, that and buy Apple stock in 2000.
My problem is less about becoming a lazy slob and more that I'm way too skinny and forget to eat half the time. Regular walking around (because I live right in town, it's easy to go out anywhere) and all the stairs in uni and the apartment block stop me from losing all muscle strength or w/e
