Another one I forgot about; this was one of my first online matches (pre-teleporters). I was in a 4v4 free for all in a system with 1 planet + 2 very small moons. I was suicide-bombed by the green commander early on, and was way behind because of it. I eventually managed to rush my commander to one of the moons first, just as my main base was being destroyed. I started building up on the moon as my remaining outposts on the main planet were destroyed by black; orange, it seemed, was turtling and had control of the other moon. Black eventually annihilated orange, but during this time I had built lots of eco and defenses on my moon, and was working on halleys. Black sent a few nukes up, most of which were shot down by anti-nukes, but just as I had finished my last halley two of his nukes hit and destroyed two halleys. He then shot up more nukes, eventually taking out almost all of my eco and defenses. He kept firing nukes, but he wasn't firing them frequently enough to kill my commander before I could get a bot factory up and repair him. After a few nukes, I noticed that his commander had landed on the moon and started building a vehicle factory; I managed to build a bot factory and a missile defense tower, escaping his first wave of vehicles, then got in a bit of a commander fight and took quite a bit of damage. His commander backed off to get repaired, leaving me with a small window of time to run away to the other side of the moon. When he sent even more tanks and it looked like I was completely doomed, I heard a nuke go off. I continued running away from the tanks as best I could, when all of a sudden the stats screen popped up; I had won.

I went back to check the replay to see what happened. It turns out he had sent a nuke at my location shortly after landing on the moon. Then, after fighting commanders and units, I had run my commander to the other side of the moon; during this time, he had inadvertently moved his commander into the range of his own nuke. Because his commander was damaged from the commander fight, he didn't have enough health to survive the blast.

tl;dr: Opponent accidentally killed himself with his own nuke when I had nothing left but my commander.

I was also going to mention that in this same fight 3 of the 6 players (including slightly bluer team) lost their commander's because they put it into an astraus and sent them to planets that just so happen to already be owned. All of which decided to land right over an umbrella. This is the first fight i have seen the power player loose to such a stupid mistake. I think he was so trusting of an un-scouted planet because he seemed sure the other players have yet to leave the planet let alone set up bases. No teleporters where used successfully even though many had tried. the game ended when the only other remaining player's computer crashed when he sent too many orbital fighters into interplanetary travel. the last person alive won a few minutes later by default whom of which was trying to build 25 hally's on only a few mexs even though he had the entire planet to himself

I'm currently in a game that has gone for 260 minutes and 10 seconds so far...It's a stalemate since we both have around 700 t2 bombers circling each of our planets (2 planet system) and we both have hundreds of orbital fighters. I cannot even finish a teleporter with 170 orbital fabs without it getting destroyed. This is so sad that I managed to land 5 sams and i was really happy but thats it). I have no idea how to win since we have both been afk leaving the match to play out and its now really laggy since we have over 20k units combined. Interplannetary Arty and the Unit Cannon needs to be in here asap lol :(

My last game had quite a peculiar ending.

I spawned on a very poor metal spot. Scouting a bit around told me the sad true, that my closest neighbor (white army) took a much richer area.

In fact, within 10 minutes he razed my base with a ton of tanks and almost all went gone. Anyway, I anticipated it and for when he moved for the final attack, I did already moved far to west. A lake positioned at north helped me in staying hidden.

He did not suspect that I relocated on the map and he did not bother to wonder where all my remaining troops were going. My Commander was already building endless lines of Power Gen. T2 Factories were slowly been completed. All went so SLOW... I was terribly late.

With my surprise, everything kept being quiet for a while. When I scouted with a jet, I got a picture of a massive conflict between the Whites and the Blacks.

Ultimately the Black Commander succumbed and its explosion was for me the sound for a go!

Whites' base wasn't very far at East. He didn't even bother to reclaim my initial four metal spots. Too poor area and under Artillery fire.

White didn't want to waste too much time. He thought he could easily take care of me now. So he moved a conspicuous group of T2 tanks on my gate at East.

I knew I was likely to be outnumbered, so for that time I had already a Nuke ready, just in case. I nuked his incoming army before it could get too close, and I ordered to ALL my units to move into the White's base core. At the point I had sort of 300 units, mostly T1 tanks, but a decent amount of T2 bots as well.

My army split in three different phalanxs and started moving. One big group of T2 bots circumvented the lake, for taking the Whites' base from the other side. The big group of T1 tanks, supported by a decent part of the T2 Bot entered the enemy base from West.

My goals were merely just two. 1. Destroy as much as possible of the enemy base now that he presumably was at his lowest after having defeating the Blacks. And 2. seeking for his Commander, surrounding it and close the game.

    None of those succeeded.

Unfortunately, White had already a blob of T2 bombers that vaporize a good part of my army around the lake. That almost declared my defeat.

Almost, because I missed to mention a couple of facts that determined a completely different result.

Earlier game I sent fabbricator bots everywhere on the map trying to claim as much as Metal spot as possible. If you remember that I started on very miserable spot. I lost all of those bots, Apart for two.

These two lucky, industrious fabs kept building and rebuilding metal extractor on the same area for all the duration of the game. Blacks and Whites kept destroying those metal extractors on a regular base, and my two faithful fabs kepts rebuilding each one of them tirelessly. It was amazing that the two fabs survived that long.

Ultimately they succumbed smashed between the Whites and the Blacks. And one unique Metal Extractor survived.

    That one made my luck.

When what was left of my army was roaming inside the White base, I kept my eyes focused, desperately looking for the Commander. And it was no where. T2 bombers were making small pieces of my last tanks so fast. I thought that it was over.

Then, out of no where, the white Commander's icon appeared on the map. It was just a blimp, and it was where I wouldn't expected it to be.

Apparently fearing a bad outcome from my attack, my adversary decided wisely to move his Commander out of the way, entirely! His Commander went right into my last Metal Extractor, the one that has been rebuilt so many times by my to faithfull, tireless fabs I told you earlier.

It was just a blimp, almost out of my range of vision. Then the white Commander disappeared again, together with my Metal Extractor.

But that was all I needed to know.

The game was at its very end. My base was being raze by T2 Bombers. My AA did a good job to slow them down, but ultimately it was all gone. T2 factories were popping and exploding like pop corn. And for some reason, the enemy didn't see my Nukes. And that cost him the match.

As soon as the icon of the Commander blimpt and disappeared, I run back to my base to see if I had any Nukes available. No. But it was matter of seconds. I had a vague idea of where the Commander could have been, 'cos I could see the direction in which it was moving.

Seconds later I ordered both my Nukes to launch. It was a bit of a blind attack. From the horizon two long trails of smoke were making their way to their target. It was absolutely beautiful and terrifying to see, and it felt like judgement day.

It took ages. But finally the Nukes reached their destination, turned down toward the ground, and in quick sequence exploded with massive damage. The first seemed to not have hit much. But the second one gratified me with a chain explosion and up to the left corner of the UI, ANNIHILATED showed up on the Whites' name.

    It was over.

Well, it was a 2v2 and I stayed on the starting planet while my teammate went orbital and went for other planets.

I was winning against the other 2 opponents which also stayed on our planet. Suddenly I hear an alarm and seeing that my teammate by accident smashed his moon into our planet, all 4 died... we had no where to go.
    Moon smash went wrong. ^^

So yesterday me and Bane were playing in a 2v2v2v2 on a 1 planet, 4 moon system. After escaping the main planet our base got rolled by a huge blob of T2 Bots, but we still managed to hold on a little. We also fully populated one of the moons we had. Then it happened. Team blue smashed one of the smaller moons onto the main planet. But that didn't affect us as we already moved the bulk of our economy to the moon. Shortly after that there was a brief battle for the main planet which we won, but they managed to nuke our stargate there. With that they had thought that we were trapped on our moon so they proceed to planet smash that moon, they also thought they had shot down one of our commanders before we landed on the main planet to recolonise it. Little did they know that they didn't and that the surviving commander rebuild the stargate on the main planet. Mass evacuation of the moon ensued, we managed to save 75% of our T2 bots and 75% of our t2 fabber, but the most glorious thing is, our second commander escaped through the stargate literally 3 seconds before impact. He was the last thing that made it through the stargate before the moon was lost. With that we won as the enemy didn't bother to evacuate their commander form the moon that was about to smash our moon (since the thought the game would end in a draw anyway).

2v2 team game. 1 planet, 1 planet and 1 moon orbiting it...solar system.

Probally the flukiest close call ive ever had in a game. Would of never known without chronocam

within 5 minutes of launching the game, my team mate is asking newbie -esk questions on open chat.

Obviously tried to help but the guy had built limited eco and a stub of a base.... he had really underestimated the scale of which you have to grow. Meanwhile i'm desperately building up my base and eco, trying to get into orbit first.

Just as i get T2 bombers, he announces he's going to invade the enemy base. With what can be described as a handfull of bots. Only to quickly realize the scale of his error... gets totally wiped out and retreats his commander to my base.

Finally get into space - only to find the enemy team had fully taken over both the moon and other planet.
So i politely informed my noobie pal this was gg.. but lets just play out for a bit of practice.

Expecting to get to totally get destroyed. Built up a decent base and eco ... spamming out my bombers, anti nukes and air... all good. but im never.. going to out eco these guys.

Rushed my little nuke, - while fending off ground forces here and there.

Where to fire... had limited intel but i guessed that there other planet based would be most built up and wouldnt expect a nuk. So i targeted just right of there orbital anchor satellite...

    Boom, target hit.

Angry messages from the other team... next minute a sudden increase in activity and a massive urgency to destroys us... manage to a 2nd nuke and take out their other base on the main planet... just as the moon crashed into us.

    GG.
    next minute their like:

GG...a close one, well played... etc.

Puzzled by this i review the chronocam.

Only to find that my stray interplanetary nuke, had some had landing an inch away from destroying both of there commanders... leaving both with a sliver of health. Slightly lower and i would of had the flukiest win in my life ...

I was fighting on a 5 planet system against two AI armies, the Purple and Yellow, because I needed to practice and whatnot.

Anyway, I spawned on the north pole of the main planet and built my base up rather nicely, until I scouted out the huge Purple base below me.

Turns out they had a rich metal spot and was building units like crazy. I was paranoid about them, so I built defence turrets and pelters around the north pole. The Yellow didn't bother me, only sending a few bots that got destroyed easily.
Then, seemingly out of no-where, the Purple team sent a huge horde of Doxes.
I destroyed them easily, because I had plenty of pounders, turrets, Doxes, and pelters.
I was relieved that the Purple army got destroyed, and I prepared an Astraeus with my commander, and I sent it to the moon. Just after that, Purple sent hordes of Doxes and Pounders, followed by T2 bombers, who completely blitzed my polar base. Luckily, however, I got many units out of there because of my teleporter.

I was ready to fight back and take back the planet from the evil purple and yellow. I was ready, with my huge army of survivors and newly built Levelers, it was time to take it back!

Because the Purple were only trying to find me on the moon, I successfully built a teleporter on the planet again, and out came masses of robots and vehicles. They started winning against the Purple when I made a plan to attack the Yellow afterwards.

    I would've done it.

    I would've.

PA then lagged to the point it was unplayable, so I called stalemate and I quit PA.

    god damnit.
