as it functions now, when an orbital defense satellite is built, it does not seem to want to move from its launch area. is this intended? because if yes, i may have a slight problem. it really confines their use to simply prevent "orbital spawn camping" and not "defend the orbital layer from invasion." your thoughts, gentlemen?
avengers are fine and dandy, but when faced with an oncoming horde of 200+ avengers, you damn well better have more than him. as for umbrellas........it's like trying to shoot an arrow at an army of tumbleweeds....you're gonna need a crapton, in bunches, to even kill them fast enough. i just dont see why a defensive sattelite has to be for the sole purpouse of anti- spawn camping. if the invading forces have you scrambling to defend the very space above your launcher.....the orbital layer is taken at that point.
https://forums.uberent.com/threads/anchor-suggestion.55979/page-2#post-860686 already posted in reaction to your bug tracker task. good ideas discussed there.
the orbital defence satellite is more for early game when everyone that has orbital is on the same planet it just makes it harder for the enemy to spawn camp your launcher or to make it that much more harder to put satellites over your base
Someone suggested letting them move but making them unable to shoot until they stop. Seems like a good compromise.
This is in fact a bug then? Holy... I guess I owe him an apology. I think even SXX thought it was intentional. I am still interested in the idea I had, maybe I am being too technical in balance safeguards, but moving slowly would definitely be a step in the right direction.
True, but invariably it will then require another urgent update to fix all the *new* bugs and balance issues from that build... Development can be a bit of a thankless task at times (and I speak from experience!)...
