Hmmm... that's an interesting idea about kills, could work out very well (could also be used like a goal difference in football leagues in the case of ties and byes). I always find it annoying in a 5 player FFA when I annihilate 3 of the enemies and get taken out by number 4 who's been hiding all game after I've done most of the work.

I still can't accept that tournament games should be unfair to that degree, having a player on either side is an enormous disadvantage and happens quite frequently in my experience. Plus there's absolutely nothing a player can do about this, which makes it far more frustrating than a preventable problem.

However, we seem to be going in circles and neither of us are changing our opinion so perhaps we should just agree to disagree :)

Fair enough. I'll be organizing a tournament in the near future with a format I described in the previous tournament thread with standings determined by unit / structure kills and a small survival bonus based on what order you get eliminated. Feel free to join and share your criticisms there :)

Well perhaps putting your ideas into practice will prove me wrong, I'll certainly enter as FFA has always been my favourite game mode.

So, what you're saying is that, 2 players sharing economy and army it is NOT a viable way to generate a 2 vs 2 Tournament... while two players having two separated and independent armies AND economy... it is...

Mmh... why I'm not buying it? ;)

I'm not saying 1 vs 1 Tournament aren't good. They're likely gonna stay A-class Tournaments at the present. Nevertheless I might personally organize a 2 vs 2 Tournament, just to prove that's possible and possibly fun (best reason for making anything at all).

Okay since everyone here is very passionate i might as well kinda release my idea to the public and get some criticism. please keep it constructive. this is a ongoing idea that me and a few others in the RLM have and the wrong cat is helping me rewrite it to make it a proper proposal to Brad Nicholson and the rest of the Uber staff.

This is a birth idea and is not nearly complete, there is no numbers done yet for the man power needed but this is a pitch, i will work with some selected individuals to work on the numbers needed on all the different ends to make this all work. if you wish to help please contact me on here via PM or a post showing interest. I will also have a sign up sheet via google docs soon that allows people to say if there in on it.

I think tournaments should be donation based. Only because this lowers the barrier of entry, got more players playing and so forth.

The other problem is what time the event is. The 7pm UTC time does not allow players in Australia to play. But I guess that is the general problem with online worldwide tournaments.

I like the idea of training camps on Sundays. I maybe a noob, but I would defiantly would like to help new players. I can at least help them getting started and get their pace up :D

I think asking for a donation however large as an entry fee and if u you cant afford or don't feel comfortable donating then you can still join.

Also i will be trying to work out maybe some tourneys that are like US-Aussie or EU-Aussie tourneys on there time zones.
