So, have been playing PA for a few weeks against my brother and had another game last night and was hoping someone could answer some questions if possible. - Does anyone know why I can't send nukes from one planet to another? I click but nothing happens. - The new teleporters don't seem to work, am I missing something? - I've built loads of thrusters (I've forgotten their name) but can't seem to move a planet. Is there a certain number or method? - To fire a nuke (same planet) do you need to be able to see their structures where you are aiming (fog of war)? - What options do I have to attack if I'm on another planet? Last night we quit because we couldn't do anything. Sorry for the n00b questions
Nucks only work between planets that are are orbiting, So for Example to use the real solar system , you can send Nucks from the moon to Earth, or Earth to the Moon, but you can't send Nucks from Earth to Mars for example. You have to link teleporters together first. Currently a planetoid has to be 249 or smaller to be moved efficiently if I recall correctly. Not vision needed that I'm aware of for Nuck Launching. The Current Interplanetary Gameplay is still really rough around the edges, the best way currently to deal with other planets is to get some units landed on them as soon as possible so that you can use teleporters before the enemy is too entrenched. You can only fire nukes between planets if one is orbiting the other (Moon-->Planet or vice versa). I believe you link teleporters by selecting one and right (or maybe left) clicking the other, haven't done it yet myself. If you zoom out to orbital, the gray squares next to a planet name indicate the number of thrusters needed to move it. If it has a 5 inside then that square counts as 5 thrusters. Generally you can't move any planetary body over ~300 radius, so whatever you are trying to move needs to be very small. You can fire nukes into the fog of war, yes. The options for invading another planet are limited right now. You can either try to sneak a fabber onto the surface with the interplanetary transport, try to ninja build a teleporter with an orbital fabber, or just kill everything on it with a KEW (smash moon into it).
Thanks all, I tried everything I could think of to link the teleporters but couldn't find a way. Will have another go this week and try again.
-Currently interplanetary nukes can only be sent to planets that orbit each other (or share an orbit with a main planet). System wide nukes are planned. -The teleporters work fine, you do need power (1000 I think?). Select a teleporter and then right click on the 2nd teleporter to establish a link. -Zoom out to system view to see how many thrusters you need. <249 is 3 Halleys and 249-349 is 25 Halleys. -No, you can select attack command on right hand pane to select a piece of ground to shoot at. -Interplanetary warfare isn't fleshed out yet but sending interplanetary nukes first, landing astraeus, and trying to build (multiple) teleporters allows you to get on. Against heavily intrenched armies there is no real way of assaulting their planet and you will have to resort to asteroid smashing (if possible). In general make all of your systems have planets that orbit each other so you can use nukes and have at least 1 smashable planet in the size range above to try to avoid stalemates.
Yes - teleporters will not function if you're operating at an energy deficit. And as stated. With one selected, go find the other one (Shift + # to store camera positions and then Alt + # to recall camera positions can make this MUCH easier) and then right click on it. Left click will simply select it. (Of course reverse those clicks if you have your default mouse clicks remapped in your OS ;-)
I think you may be getting these confused. The alt+# is only to recall camera positions that were set using shift+#. Simply pressing a # will recall control groups that were set using ctrl+#.
