    The basic idea
    • Each unit has a couple of one-shot upgrade options (e.g. extra shielding, self radar jamming, anti-air missles, etc).
    • When an upgrade is selected, the unit deactivates, upgrades itself (consuming energy and metal), then reactivates itself.
    • Upgrades can't be stacked, undone, or cancelled mid-way through.
    Example
    • T1 bot factory with an upgrade choice to (A) faster production, (B) short-range radar, or (C) T2 capacity
    • Commander with (A) increased HP, (B) increased movement speed, (C) more efficient fabbing
You get the idea. It might help diversify the unit base without requiring lots of extra building options. Upgrades might even be trade-offs with negatives as well (e.g. area radar jamming, but significant power drain).

This is already confirmed to not be included, you should read the Q&A and use the search bar.

I see you're new here, and welcome!

You should do a search before posting.

Upgrades have been discussed extensively on the forums. I'd recommend doing a search before posting.

    Upgrades are a confirmed no.

Let's all be a bit more understanding of our new members, guys. This is a big forum with a great community. It's easy to overlook things.

Welcome, Brad! You have a great name.

Yeah, but all the good resources are hidden making it harder than it should be.

Well sure, but all the resources that could be used to help offset that are hidden from new users.
