    didn't see that, my bad.

    I"m not sure how useful that would be though considering that in pretty much every case where you would actually pay attention to a notification and see where it's from, you are probably going to snap to that location anyway because it requires your attention...

    Once multi/embedded window support is added, we should be able to hover the mouse over a notification for a couple seconds and get a popup window showing the area around the event. Hopefully we can at least mod this in even if Uber doesn't do it.

    Yes, I am that happy about it. While you there, tickle the like button with your clicker. No, it isn't personal endorsement, someone else made it but it is really useful.

    I think if notifications are done properly they might even replace the need for a minimap, so I'm definitely for fixing them up more :p

    What should notify me (may be some overlap):
    1. Scout unit sees an enemy unit or building (separate notifications).
    2. Enemy unit moves into radar range.
    3. Own unit under attack, not just building/commanders.
    4. Distinguish between being reclaimed and being attacked, these false alarms really annoy me.
    5. Nuke/Antinuke complete (suggested before).
    6. Space travel completed.
    7. Planet weaponized (Sufficient Halleys built to smash).
    8. Possibly more?

    Personally I've felt that notifications and the ui are limited. I've wanted a way to go to a single selected unit's camera postion (like a scout's for example) while I was looking at my base, instead of having to scroll around and find it.

    A notification related to fog of war changes like units discovered or entering your field of view, and then the option to click on a button to move your camera there would be great.

    What if we could completely configure these notifications ourselves to correspond to preferred 'game events'?

    Map pings which team-mates can see would be sooo very useful as well.

    I hope the UI APIs will be made comprehensive enough that the ideas mentioned in this thread could be modded in. We would need at least the following capabilities:

    - Data from every unit; where they are, what they are doing, what do they see
    - Showing a mini-window about a specific time and place

    Sometimes in beta I forget that were supposed to give feedback on the stuff they already gave us.

    In General for notifications

    I think its a good start. I think it would be nice that eventually you can see notification per planet with maybe a popup notification on 1 planet ( an example would be the planet menu showing red notifications on each planet if you are not currently on that planet to receive notification.)

    I would hate if the notifications were hybridized into 1 underneath the economic bar since you might click one and get teleported to some random planet you just landed on.

    I think there should be a lander notification to know if a lander has landed on another planet so you can begin your invasion. Like a yellow notification.

    I like the color coding for green red for damage and construction... I am not sure why grey is in the mix for a building destroyed. I think that should be red as well.

    I noticed that when a lot of things are happening and blowing up. the notification bar goes in blitz mode telling you what is blowing up, but I don't think that is helpful for people especially if a few buildings get destroyed while your commander gets attacked and you wanted to click on your commander but ended up on some destroyed building. Sometimes I think the notifications could be in a Three Bar system

    Example:

    GREEN BAR ==== {Buildings constructed, Nuke construction finished, etc.}
    YELLOW BAR==={Lander has landed on other planet, Halley has finished construction}
    RED Bar===={ Commander under attack, Defense underattack, unit under attack. }

    And instead of these three bars being just as large as the current one.. I was thinking 1.5x the current alert size with all three having the space to show up.

    It might not be a good idea but I could use some differentiation when I see a blur of buildings getting destroyed
