what happens is i launch the game it's completely fine i start a new game me vs AI. i start the game and says that it is loading etc. then one of two things happen. number 1, it says PA. exe stopped working and the game shutdown. number 2, it does the same thing but the game starts and says select your starting position and then crashes. and if your kind enough to help me i don't understand this eg. install dlx.9000 to steam and create your own star system. i'm very aware you don't create your own star system but i hope you understand what i mean. thank you:)
(quick note i'm running it on a alienware windows 7something something something)

Check my signature and upload your DxDiag.txt file.

This reminds me of something I've been thinking of for awhile. We should get a stickied thread in this forum with the title "Posting DxDiag when requesting help!" or some such to grab the attention of new posters so we can actually give decent advice, rather than continuously asking people to post it. It grows tiresome.

I got some standard fixes in my sig though that work about 90% of the time

your graphics drivers are almost 3 years out of date, you can update it from AMD's website.
