I'm a rather new player to Planetary Annihilation, and I had a sudden idea related to moons. Currently with moons you click annihilate then the moon goes heads right to the planet and destroys it. What if you could play pool with the moon?

Why not use a moon to attempt to knock a smaller planet into a bigger planet killing two planets with one rock. How about hitting a planet with another moon, causing said moon to float away and potentially possibly hitting another planet.

This idea would only matter in a bigger galaxy with a decent amount of planets, and would require gravity to be in play. But being able to "play pool" would allow a certain amount of skill related to predicting where a hit planet will crash into another target or not, and require a active decision if it's better to hit a planet directly instead of planning your attack out.

Anyways, tell me if you have any idea related to gravity and using planets as weapons, and if this suggestion is worth adding or not. And in my opinion more likely then not, this will be a effect of gravity being added.

Interstellar combat is, unfortunately, a confirmed non-feature.

Oh well, seemed like a good idea. Thanks for the reply!

If someone doesn't mod this in, I'll make it a point to do so myself. Advanced engine mechanics and gravity systems were my dream for PA, and I'm determined to play a game where I can knock the enemy's planet into the sun.

One a side note, how about moons having a limited radius. When 20 vs. 20 comes out it would suck if you can fling a moon at the main planet and it destroys everything. Why not limit how far the moons effect can go, so it might take multiple moons to destroy everything on a larger planet.

Shockwaves from lunar impacts is a must, IMO, to make base positioning relevant late game if nothing else. Might a mountain provide a fraction of cover for a few structures? Or on a water planet, maybe a coastal buffer wall can stem the tidal wave ever so slightly. It would be interesting to see.

Yes different damage from different sized bodies is confirmed as far as I know. Which is why just changing planets orbits without smashing is supposed to become an option. Using asteroids as planetary invasion platforms.
