I just downloaded and installed the PA launcher. But whenever i try to launch it , the launcher crashes with the following reason: Application Name: PALauncher.exe Application Version: 1.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 51ad2ee2 Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.18229 Fault Module Timestamp: 51fb1116 Exception Code: e053534f Exception Offset: 0000c41f I already updated all my drivers and have the latest .NET-Version. I also have an Nvidia 540M Graphics card, but when i start the programm using it it also crashes.
The same here. pa.exe stopped working. I have Windows 8.1. All drivers are fine. I have an i5 3.3 GHz, 8 GB RAM, Ati crossfire system with 2x 6850 cards and 13.12 drivers installed. Newest .net 4.51 installed and directx diagnostics shows no problem. All other games work and i really mean all other games (> 100 on steam). What can it be? Help would be appreciated.
I guess i fixed it myself. Maybe helpful for others. Made two things: Switched to the steamlibrary and gave pa.exe (64bit) admin rights Gave steam.exe admin rights Most important: installed newest realtek high definition drivers for 64bit systems. My drivers were from April this year. Now it works... for now.
Interesting, can you please check my signature and upload your DxDiag.txt? You first player who got crash due to audio drivers.
There not much you can do about launcher crashes, but you can try that: Set administrator privileges on it. Try to run it with some random compatibility mode. Check your system with "sfc" util: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff184577.aspx Probably some of your Windows files is damaged.
There should be new launcher in future. Currently you can play though Steam or download game from any other computer.
