I'm finally get PA to work: It's was really useful that devs move rendering settings to JSON. Currently I might say for sure that crash related to shadowmap/prelight. I'm not yet know what exactly cause crash, but it's looks like related to features lighting/shadows. To apply fix you need to do that: Download "content.json.zip" achieve Extract it Copy "content.json" Paste with replace into "media/shaders/" As result game won't crash.
Little update. Currently I know for sure that crash caused by two effects from content.json: "textured" and "textured_normal". According to grep output planet features using them. It's interesting that "textured_normal_material" don't cause crash even if it's used mostly same set of shaders.
Nice. This makes it working for me again on the Intel HD4000! I bet you "saved" Christmas for a lot of people now. (Well, "a lot" in Linux user terms. )
It works for me too, now I can finally play. You saved the Linux community again, thank you very much!
I'm crashing after it says the game will start after the world or whatever is created. If I reopen PA it says I have a game already started. Then it crashes again after starting to begin the game. Is this the right fix or a different problem?
This is the right fix for your problem. SSX's fix fixes the problem where generating a planet causes a crash. So for instance, pressing PREVIEW in the system editor or in your case, rejoining a game or joining a game after having pressed READY in the lobby.
