Graphical glitches when changing graphic settings (solved)

So I tried to change the graphic settings to uber and I encountered a white flashing covering the entire screen, I could not play the game due to not being able to see. I tried setting graphics just to high and the same thing occurred. The game only works on default settings, any help?
