Hey to whom ever may read this.

I have been watching this game since its alpha! and I've been very impressed by it as an Good old example of what a RTS should be (there are literally no decent rts's at the moment)

I got the game today as my birthday present and was super excited to play it as expected tho unfortunately I have been met by Single player skirmish having to create a server and load a random world which takes about 5 to 8 mins when it should take next to 30 seconds

I also experienced a GREAT and i stress GREAT deal of lag and choppiness not caused by my computer as its a brand new nuclear fusion power coil reactor with inbuilt alien drives from a recovered space craft (Its a gaming beast)

So reading he forums it has been said that single player will be released properly apon the official release!

I have no problem with signing into an account to play but i beg you and beg you and beg you PLEASE don't make this an online only focus! make single player Easy to play with out having to go threw an online server, I am from Australia and dew to the lag I won't be able to play a full game of this until release which makes me a sad panda.

I hope to one day soon click on play. go to AI start a match and bam 20 to 30 seconds later begin building with no issues of lag. (i shall be dreaming of this moment for many nights to come)

This is my first night and time playing it so I shall try again tomorrow hopefully it won't be lagging "ON MY SINGLE PLAYER GAME" >.<

Please creators Do not screw up single player. by having it run threw servers.
A humble excited RTS fan who believes your reviving the genre. Do not screw it up

You will only be able to play offline when the game is officially released.

As BulletMagnet said, you should try to play on Au servers. However if your set up (including connection) doesn't live up to the minimum requirements there isn't much you can do, I know it can suck.

Don't worry about after the release, Uber has clearly stated that there will be a full local single player once the game is released. You won't miss any features (apart from online play itself) if you play offline.

They are doing their current approach to prevent multiple issues because of it being still in development.

It's a privilege to be able to play it before release at all.

    You should do a search.

This is brought up frequently and is even answered on the FAQ.

During beta, everything runs through the servers.

When the game is released, offline/local/LAN play will be allowed without having to go through servers.

In other words, your concerns are not concerns.

    Dude. I'm a New Zealander.

    Go into settings.

Change your preferred server to Australia.

Any lag thereafter is your computer, or your Internet connection, not Ubers server's geographical location

    Having the same problem...

Lower the total unit cap. "Total Annihilation" had a very similar problem...

Use to play "Total Annihilation" on dial up (before broadband was practical), now that was unplayable :D

The current unit cap is infinity. Let's subtract 1000. Now we have infinity. I am happy.

Let's hope more optimizations happen and better servers will become available.

Practically the unit cap is whenever the game becomes unplayable.

It would be a nice, if totally confusing, server option to have, to manually define that point with some kind of safety factor, rather than play through an unoptimised game.

That way, as optimizations happen, you can just keep raising your own unit cap.
