Don't some people exchange gifts on the 24th?

And others wait until the 5th of January, the 12th day of Christmas, before exchanging gifts.

In Germany we open the presents at the 24th December, the "holy evening "

Thought so I had a moment of doubt in that Tatsujb was also German, so thought it might be regional rather than national.

Spanish open gifts on the 5th. Greek Orthodox also at a similar time.

In Belgium we do it both on 24th and 25th of December, thus in some cases you got the luck to open presents twice

In my family, we open gifts whenever is most convenient, however it's still decided on which day we do it before hand. As far as I know, we're the only ones who do this.
