So I bought the game yesterday on Steam, and am experiencing the Linux proprietary ATI driver bug (The black screen of death). For added fun, on Windows I'm experiencing the ATI crashes-on-startup bug. Delightful!

The bug tracker lists a known workaround for the Linux bug, but the page it links to on the forum which ostensibly has the workaround gives me an access denied error.
I would post a link to the pages in question, but apparently I'm not allowed to do that, either.

What does hiding the forum with workarounds on it achieve other than pissing people off? It makes a certain amount of sense to prevent people posting to it unless you can verify they have the app, but it should very much be publicly readable. Or is this some sort of "We don't want people being able to read about the bugs in our app" type thing? That seems an insane policy. It's a beta. If people don't understand that that implies bugs they're idiots - but it also means that it's *essential* that information about known bugs is accessible to users so they're not needlessly blocked from using the app because of a problem that has, apparently, been solved.

I have linked my Steam account to my UberNet account, and I have tried logging out and in again (Things which seem to be suggested as other solutions to this problem).

Could someone either explain how to get access to this, or mirror the page I need somewhere where I can get at it? Bonus points for suggesting sane reasons why it's built this way in the first place.

Could you link to the bug tracker item in question? (EDIT: Of course new users can't post links - could you provide the bug tracker reference number?) We should probably have that solution put in the public forums rather than the private ones.

Incidentally, I'm not sure whether people buying the game at this point get access to the Backers' forum, but you should certainly have access to the Beta testers' forum.

you can bypass link post protection by slipping in a space, anywhere in it.

Try to check if accounts actually linked and re-login again. It's should work.

Hmm, it looks like the account is connected now. Have you been able to access the link now? You should have access.

Same problem and at least as pissed off. I don't want or know how to link my steam account. I don't want to be part of this forum, but I thought I could view the black screen workaround if I registered. I will find a way to get a refund if this isn't fixed asap.

Calm down bro. You buy the game on steam, expect to jump through a hoop or two before using forums. Don't want to do this, but the game directly from the devs.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty in the game. :(

You will need an UberNet account linked to your Steam account in order to play. If you're noticing a black screen when you load the game, it may be that your graphics card drivers need to be updated. We have links to the top manufacturer's sites here: http://support.uberent.com/kb/faq.php?id=1

    To link your accounts: https://uberent.com/user/linkedsteamaccount

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact Support at support@uberent.com. We're on holiday right now, but I'm still trying to help out and answer questions.
