The game deserves more large-scale offensive structures to add continuing variety to the game along-side nuke facilities.

I would love to see planet-obliterating and core smashing black holes being implemented in some way for intergalactic warfare. This would add an entirely new aspect of paranoia to gameplay. Maybe this could be achieved with a large interplanetary laser, which would ultimately make your planet a death star.

Another destructive weapon more close to home would be a weather control device. It could conjure up instances of thundering lightning clouds to scorch a radius of the planet or possibly create acid rain which could render metal nodes useless or slowly damage units and buildings.

In short; ideas for more super weapons, which this game deserves!

Not convinced it will happen, at least not at launch.

However the metal planets offensive capabilities are up to speculation, maybe this is the weapon you describe :)

What do black holes add to the game? I think you may just be wanting the sciencey words black hole to be used without actually putting any thought into the matter.

What do they do? Suppose they suck everything in. That's really lame. Because you've just made a machine that ends games with a draw. It's okay if you lose, because at least someone else gets the nice feeling of winning. A black hole that sucks everything up denies that nice feeling to everyone.

Absolute Zero-Point Energy Dark Matter (or some such scientific nonsense)

Basically, create super-dense matter that can only exist within a field, but which still influences the overall mass and gravitational pull of the planet. What's the practical use for this technology? Perhaps it can be used to "steer" the planet's/moon's orbit closer to, or further away from, a star.

Why is that useful? I'm not sure ... Perhaps a body could be relocated nearer another one that is under your control, making it less susceptible to invasion/attack without speedy support. Perhaps it could be used to slowly alter the orbit of a planet so that it crashes into another planet, combining the best features of an end-over-end flipping car wreck and fiery Hellscape rapidly crumbling into ash and liberated atoms.

Conversely, it could be built onto larger moons that are slingshot into planets so that their overall mass becomes much higher in transit to the planet, causing heightened devastation.

Of course, that might be a bit too over-powered for the game, as might causing a planet to plummet into its sun with sufficient power/time.

Not a real good suggestion, but maybe something to get some folks out there thinking. [:)]

You created this exact thread on the main forums.

Why did you create another one over here?
