So right now it seems that patrol queues are sorta broken. If you try to queue up a patrol quickly it just doesn't work. You have to slow down really slowly to be able to create one.
Any chance of having the color of the area build circle changed, perhaps to a function of the color behind it? That blue is hard to see on the ocean. I mean... why would anyone whine about a minor thing in the face of such an awesome update? This is so great I don't need to be able to see it, because it's still better than it was before!
I have repro'd the Mac crash in the latest build. We're investigating, but it will probably be morning before we can push a fix live, as it is already after 7PM.
All nighter? Hmm... I noticed that... I assume it's because of the Uber controls not recognizing shift+commands as being identical to just the command? But yeah ...
I can mod the UI to get more alerts? Really? uuuuh. I need to check that out. I don't plan on actually showing them to the user, only record them as a build order.
Now I want a "Watch this" mod that will let me mark a few units or structures that I want to be more closely monitored!
Would you care to give me a hint? I cant see anything too obvious. Like a "I am interested in this events" call or something ^^ I'd appreciate it. EDIT: I just lol'ed hard. I was searching the changes in the most recent patch. Turns out you sneaked in those settings in the previous patch already. Dang, so I had all features I needed and didnt realize. Let's see what this does now. EDIT 2: HOOOORAAAY EDIT 3: I love you all Edit 4: I am already really happy with the amount of information I am getting, however when you make more alerts please consider a "construction started" event. I think that is interesting as well. At least for my purposes
Area commands are zero kelvin. For area building... I could suggest a little tweak Backed up by others in this thread: 1) Shape of the template is user defined? (i.e. Anno 2070, you can build in either a circle or a rectangle). Even a "unit default" - so you can fiddle with whether the default shape is circular or linear. It could be changed via the menu that makes things fire-at-will/hold-fire/return-fire. 2) Change the density and pattern of building structures Particularly with defensive structures - create a sporadic line, place missile turrets haphazardly in a large area, etc. But also (And I know I keep harping on about this), placing power gens in solid blocks, leaving unpathable space between them, and pathable space either side. i.e. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -: default/current layout --- --- --- --- --- --- --: optional layout. Just to make base building a little more customisable. And also, if you're really pushed for space for some reason, so you can build as densely as possible. Maybe a feature for those that really enjoy building bases. Clearly you could do the same with walls as well. Essentially it could steal the change density of unit formation mechanic. These are all really great features Best feature by far! A huge thank you I've fallen in love with bombers again. As far as I can tell, all this means is "If there are more fabbers than combat units in this area, select fabbers." Great. It was WAY better when fabbers were excluded. Added to PAMM?
I really should go to bed now, but I will most certainly start working on build order integration with PA Stats first thing in the morning when I get up.
Looks like the range on levelers got reduced somehow. Have to be at point blank before they fire now. They no longer have greater range than laser turrets. Looks like they about half the range of a laser turret now. This is with working radar and line of sight.
Cannot wait to try out those area commands and the bombers with said area commands. Been looking forward to these since the Kickstarter.
Still haven't tried them! Left home 10 minutes after the patch went live, enough time to update PA Matches & post on reddit, and then got home not too long ago and need to go to bed as I need to work tomorrow.
like some othe the other orumites, I am haveing major issues getting the game to launch on w7 32 bit nvidia geforce 430 w latest beta driver
Jesus, the true promises are on the way Area commands are just pure gold and the best innovation in RTS game i have ever seen since a verrrrrry long time. It's just smoothing the game experience and lowering the boring micro management. In addition i love the new desert biome feature. It's coming, to which extent, i don't know, but, omfg, i can feel what awesome means with Uber. Thanks to the whole Team.
Pics coming soon, but the new desert terrain features contain a crazy amount of awesome. Also, small metal planets bear a passing resemblance to a certain character from Portal 2 (spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace)
I suspect increasing the costs of anti-nukes, even taking into account the free missile, is a mistake. The sheer range of nukes means they can hit anywhere so a defender is already at a disadvantage. Plus. more effective anti-nukes means greater bomber viability.
