Hello again, my dear Planetary Annihilators! I was made an offer of this set : i5 3570 + GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-D3H + GIGABYTE GTX 670 OC WindForce x3 For 650$. In Poland, looking through offers from shops and ebay above mentioned seems fair. I would just like to get your expertised opinion on the profits from such operation. Currently my rig sometimes give me such beautiful results like shown here: Also I'd like to ask a question, which are the better GPU's looking for PA only? AMD or Nvidia? And why?
did you turn graphics up? did you get a newer or beta driver? (btw that's a kick-as s price you lucky bastard ) Upload a Dxdiag.txt to your next reply so I can help you further. to do this hit ÿ then "dxdiag", ↩ let the program run, allow the progress bar to finish hit "Save All Information..."
That's what I call a fast respond! I tried variaty of ingame settings. Mostly I get this issue when playing on bigger planets, and always when there is some transit between planets (like 200 fighters) following the rule the moar the better chance that we will maybe win this attack on their planet full of umbrella and possible 201 fighters So dxdiag is included. And looking on your reaction, this is preatty good deal. I will proceed with it than. I know game is still in beta, this 0.2 fps was (im not sure though) just because of this transit of units. Sometimes it's also in the begining of the game. Currently I play with everything set to min/low. Game looks like TA still sweet. edit: I tried both newest signed driver, and beta. Currently on beta getting less issues. On last stabile edition of driver I had significantly more of those issues... Bart
Im curious why you didnt wait since PA is a ways off from release. Longer you wait the better and cheaper the hardware to run it will be. I do not plan on doing a focused build for this game for at least another year.
It's caused by planet actually. Currently planets with low water level and lot of mountains quite heavy for any hardware. Also I'm recommend you go to Nvidia Control Panel and try to enable "Threaded Optimization", probably it's will boost performance on your current GPU. At moment it's Nvidia, some time back in alpha it's was AMD. Currently devs working on performance optimizations that should improve performance on AMD hardware. In general Nvidia always had better OpenGL support than AMD and I doubt it's will change anytime soon. PS: Also I do agree that it's might be useful to wait a bit and buy better GPU cheaper.
ok so turn graphics to medium or low. scale resolution should be 1.0 launch the game with uber laucher not steam. (you can download the uberlauncher here https://store.uberent.com/download/PA_Setup.exe ) when you host planets go 3 planets max. 200 size things are going to be asteroids you can ad like 4-5 of these without trouble. only have ONE 1200 radius planet in. you average planet should be 800 radius. AND you where ripped off : "GeForce GTX 460 700mb vram" that's NOT a 670 windforce x3. he may just have tacked the windforce x3 radiator on his old 460 (which A.) you can buy separately B.) you can get rid of if you put your 670 in a watercooling loop) sorry bud. you need to turn graphics down alot or get yourself a replacement for that card. it doesn't even have the min required 1Gig of graphic memory. check the pages I answered on building a correct PA rig. https://forums.uberent.com/threads/how-well-would-my-computer-run-a-realistic-gaming-computer.50223/
Oh I see there's been a missunderstanding. The rig from the title is one I WANT TO BUY. The rig in dxdiag is te one I CURRENTLY use This is : AMD Phenom 2 x4 955, Gainward GTX460 768MB SE and Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3
well then the above about using uber launcher and settings still apply. turn down graphics, get nvidia experience running on that, configure it to include beta drivers and let it update the driver. and run the game with uber launcher. make sure resolution scaling is on 1.0 If you can, get a DxDiag on the other computer.
Hi again. I decided to buy only GPU from this guy. I changed CPU and MOBO to : Intel Core i5 4670K and AsRock Fatality Performance H87. I think this will be far better after OC. Those previously mentioned CPU was without K letter, and as H87 chipset don't allow the fsb to be changed, the only way for any OC is to change multiplayer I belive. So this made me look for 3570K, and looking at the price - I get to me that it's better to jump over to new Haswell. I found brand new for 700zl which is around 222$?! I don't know if that's pricey or not. That's just an update on my build. Yesterdays game update bring much improved overall performance! Thank You for reading this! Bart
I don't know if anyone of you cares but - just to update my setup change: I've changed CPU and MOBO, and what's funny now - I got better results while playing with builtin GPU which is Intel GMA 4600 (inside 4670k). This is just crazy! Still waiting for GTX 670 though. I'll see how this will influance gameplay.
Just finished game. 8 planets in Total, 10 players. All settings at uber. 65fps worst case scenario. Ussuall more than 120fps LOL That's what I wanted from the begining. For the i7 hmm. There is always a place for it, but I think I can do it with this i5.
