No java or flash on iPad. However, twitch has an app in the iOS App Store. I used that to watch the stream.

To expand further on the [annoying] workflow/process involved...
I clicked on the link in this thread on my desktop (happens to be a Mac, but any desktop would be fine) where I am logged in to twitch. I watched a bit of the stream, but then wanted to bring it up on iPad. Most effective way to do that was to click "Follow" so I am now following Uber_Garat. Switch to iPad, load the twitch app (it was already loaded actually, so i hit refresh) and then see Uber_Garat's channel in my list of followed users who are streaming live at the moment.

This does assume that you have an account set up with twitch. It's even more annoying if you try to use an iPad without a twitch account. Their iPad app is terrible at finding anything PA-related, other than current live streams. And even very specific searches for known users often result in zero hits inside the app. Thus my convention of using a desktop browser (logged in with my twitch credentials) for twitch PA content discovery, and for following URL links like the one brianpurkiss posted.
As you probably noticed, the URL link from this thread took you to Mobile Safari on iOS, and ditches you there with an error. At best, Mobile Safari lets you know that a twitch.ipa app exists, but there's no facility to get you inside the app to the target of the link. Purely terrible support from twitch, IMO - it wouldn't be hard for them to fix. Though I suspect the user-unfriendly mode they've defaulted to gets them more traffic on more devices (I never would've signed in to their service from my desktop, if they had better iPad support), so their motivation to fix it is likely counter to their monetization goals. not getting my hopes up that they'll fix it.

    Thankfully Uber isn't like that!

I am indeed talking about flash player :) I spent about half of today battling java related malware, so it's pretty prominent in my thoughts.

*Sorry about double post, multiple replies are a bitch on mobile.*

Mmm I've always steered clear of the twitch app cos I've heard bad things about it, most things are in the archives anyway so I can just watch on my desktop.

Anyway, let's turn this thread bak to more interesting topics, such as the awesomeness that will be future PA builds (so awesome!)

Good call. Those notifications looked and acted great. I unfortunately missed a few of the area commands watching live; very nice to see the screenshots from Brian, post-edited in:

Yeah, those area commands look like they're going to make the game so much easier and more comfortable to play (especially for building resource collectors and general army fights. No more using move orders to attack!)

Hopefully notifications will make true multi-planetary warfare a more humanly possible endeavour, I'm assuming they'll be customisable, so we can decide what we want to be notified of.

Watching the replay now, thanks for posting this uber! :)

Edit: From the chat around 4 minutes, sounds like there will be a new build next week (talk of locking it down monday)

    The noise at 20:30 wtf?

Edit: Things on radar are diamonds (so you don't know the type) until they are in vision.

Two bugs: When returning to the create game screen after selecting a system, The "Alliances" game type is no longer highlighted. The lobby then said "Free For All" :p

..... Not sure if joking or serious. ;-)

The bug list from this 20 minute play test was about 15. Mostly it's not "bugs", but "feature still being developed".

This was literally the first alliance game we have ever played in the office.

It still has quite a bit of work to go. Not sure what exactly will be in the next build for it.

Oh, they are totally minor, I know. Just thought I'd point them out :)
(Also didn't know it was the first game you'd played with alliances)

Oh wow, just overheard: "While if you're allied with an AI, it won't shoot at you or anything like that, but I think it will still nuke you" :p

If you are referring to 22:54, pretty sure that's a scout vehicle half-hidden by a tree ;)

The bot factory construction arms kinda make it look like it's dancing to the music.

As a note, anyone who watches me stream will be subjected to my playlists, which currently includes (not joking):
    - Rush
    - Katy Perry
    - Macklemore
    - Kei$ha
    - Lady Gaga
    - Billy Joel
    - Def Leppard
    - Metallica
    - Guns 'n Roses
    - Occasionally classical if I'm in the mood
    - a bunch of other stuff I can't recall (I own about a thousand CDs and even more on itunes :) )

I listen to almost everything. Not much country or folk or stuff like that, other than occasionally Johnny Cash though.

 I said, get out! ;) (And CDs only because I've finally gotten rid of all my cassettes and records - never went the 8-track route)

Oh nice, I just noticed that after your commander dies, the rest of your units die in a staggered way now, rather than all at once.
