The heartbreaking/inspirational story of...

Grec getting the 15 dollars to buy Monday Night Combat.

Because I feel like writing a story.

So here I was, just chillin and playing Blazblue: Continuum Shift. It was a hot August 11th day and one of my friends, I notice, is playing this game obscure game called "Monday Night Combat". I get onto party chat with him, and he tells me what the game is all about. I decide to try out the trial, and I played a few games with him. What I played was virtual bliss, a messiah of team based shooters has come and it told me to shoot people in the face with this skinny spaz called "the Sniper". After 30 minutes of heaven, the game kicks me out, saying "buy this or go away". Now, back then I was an unemployed 16 year old 118 pound runt of the litter in my family, and my only means of income was to push a some what broken lawnmower over wild acres of neglected grass. So I tell my friend that I'll be back in a bit, because I have to make some cash. I change out of my undies, and get that thing I call a "lawnmower" (one time it caught on fire while I was using it). Keep in mind that it's over 100 degrees and it just rained yesterday so it's so very humid. I push my lawnmower over to my lazy friend's house and asked if she would like my to mow her lawn. She agreed, seeing that no one else would do it. Remember, this was during summer vacation, there was no reason to ''work out". After an hour of agonizing work, my shirt is sticking to my torso from all the sweat. This was the first deed of phsyical labor I had done in a while. After getting the ''monies'', I drag my exhausted body back to my house. I'm so parched, that I just have to get a drink of water. Anyways I stroll to the gamestop, buy a prepaid card and get MNC.


And about half a year later I'm still playing it, an XBLA game. Best 15 dollars I ever spent.

Me? I just broke into my birthday money waiting to find something this awesome.

Pearl Harbor Screenplay:

Out of BLACK we hear the sound of an airplane roaring by.

EXT. POV OF AN AIRPLANE

Flying over American heartland. We see the earth through the
pilot's perspective as sky and ground swap positions, the
plane swooping down and storming over the ground.

THE PLANE

is a biplane, racing over a field lush with young plants. It
releases a trail of crop spray, and climbs again...

Up into a crystalline blue sky where sunshine pours like
honey over family farms stretching to the horizon. Maybe
it's not heaven, maybe it's just Tennessee. But as long as
there's been an America, men have fought and died for this
place -- as volunteers.

When I went to Gamestop to buy the code for MNC, I had to wait in line behind 2 people. It was exhausting.

I remember the first few trailers from maybe what? Two years ago? I followed the game ever since.

Before release, I bought a goddamn 1600 XBLA points card with money probably meant to be spent on textbooks and waited around an hour or so for my game to download.

And Grec, keep me away from those clap traps.

I was up early with a party of 8 waiting for this game to come out. I forgot exactly when it finally showed up but I think a few of us downloaded on xbox.com on one of the foreign parts of the site. You can do that to download games earlier sometimes. I always keep track of upcoming games so I'm never short on MS points.

I was going to ''plow her beanfield'' afterwards if you know what I mean.
