I, and many of you guys have probably noticed that sometimes commanders aren't landing in the game. I sometimes know when it's my fault. (The game started right when I was about click the "Start annihilation" button.) and, sometimes the button doesn't work. (I had clicked my dropping position, it had red circle in it, like usual, and I clicked the button, and the button didn't respond.) My main point is that the game starts without everyone picking. One time we had 2 people on our team fail to land. Can someone give me some insight on your experience with this bug?
Any exact, 100% repros on this, especially if multiple people can do it, is greatly appreciated. This is a new bug, to our knowledge, and we would very much like to understand the exact circumstances it occurs under.
I have had the trouble with the Start Annihilation button not working in the same manner as described above also, however my comm has always landed despite the unresponsive button (I usually spam the button a bit just to be sure). I don't have any logs to show this unfortunately though.
I have had a similar problem, but I can't even see the "Start Annihilation" button... My game lags up with the "Generating Planets" text. About a minute later my commander appears on the planet without me selecting a spot. I can move it around, but I can't build anything. The Generating Planets text is shown the whole time till I force quit.
@Fathousecat: Have you checked that you've loaded the system before readying up? There is a circle in the top right that starts red then goes through yellow to green. It may be an outdated driver and/or an internet-server connection problem if you are green to go before readying up. Basically what is happening for you atm is the system is generating while you have the option to select a spawn. B/c that takes too long the selection phase times out so the spawn is automatically done for you. That's why your comm shows up without you doing anything while the system loads.
Yeah I wait till it's green everytime... Just tried it again to be sure and I'm still having the same issue. It just hangs up on Generating Planets.
Here's two known causes for Commanders not spawning: http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/...ask_id=2724&project=1&order=history&sort=desc http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/...1&opened=brianpurkiss&order=history&sort=desc
i wasnt spammming but got stuck in "generating planets" when i started it without the planets being ready and when the planets were ready. the second time i could launch the planets into each other from the menu but didnt do anything somehow my commander spawned and i could move him but it still said "generating..." and i xouldnt build anything not sure if its a real bug or mods are causing it.
Do you guys use WiFi to connect to your routers/modems or Ethernet cables?? When i play over Wifi (even Wireless N) i have this issue, lobby buttons become unresponsive, game lags at load, the planet will show but i don't get the option to pick starting area, mex locations sync/show very slowly, then it takes almost 3-5 mins before the Sim starts. When i use the ethernet or USB connection to my modem PA runs fine 0 issues
If you have the commander health mod installe this will happen. Just uninstall it and see if problem persists.
No that's not the only cause. I had it happen to me multiple times when that mod was disabled. I think it could be helpful to have a 'default' spawn be at one of the spawn points. In an armies game if this occurs it disadvantages the team with half the initial build power. Mind you, my team won all the games this happened in. Legends all.
Do you by any chance have some mods enabled? I was suffering from the same thing, but when I disabled all of my mods and restarted the game, it worked fine. Might be a fluke of course. I haven't had the chance to properly test it yet.
