More special game types, please! I had an idea for a similar mode: One player, maybe you, ZaphodX, acts alone, against 3 teams of 3 (like in the last game). This player may not be killed at any point, and may only be defended against (against say, a raid, or pelter creep). Likewise, the lone player may not kill off any opposing commanders (but other structures/units are fair game). Then, the winner is the last team alive, not including the lone player. This would require a balanced level of harassment from the lone player, to keep all 3 other teams busy. Might be interesting to watch though!

That sort of thing will obviously be easier if they add dynamic team alliances. A lot of tension in the chat due to the way the rules "work" I agree though, needs a bigger planet, or perhaps that would simply result in a guaranteed nuke rush.
You didn't include the latter part of the match where we beat you! The game type is a fun idea. I submit that it's called "Kill Orb" no matter who the lone person is. It should have been on a larger planet. Maybe even give Orb a 2 minute head start where everyone else must do nothing for 2 minutes.
The thing is, since we had 3 Commanders, our exponential growth was a lot faster. If he starts growing sooner, he can get a lot bigger. If we wait another 5 minutes to attack him, that will just put him at even more of a disadvantage. It'd also could be cool if no defensive structures fired until the 10 minute mark. That would be nuts. That'd be a fun mod.
I tried this out and it turned out pretty boring. Dunno sometimes stuff I think is boring people like but it feels like a good idea that just didn't work out in practice. Perhaps it needs extra rules like no building defences or something but I don't think it worked. If I can't get a video for tomorrow then I guess it might make it to Youtube anyway and I can get some feedback from the comments. Either way thanks for the idea it got me thinking about cool stuff.
Everything I know about PA, I learned from Zaphod. Hey, I was thinking about how to enhance the Untouchable game mode - the problem is essentially that there needs to be greater incentive for players to go after each other and not turtle, yes? This would require a little more work on the part of the Untouchable, but make it so that each time a team kills an enemy commander, their blood sacrifice pleases the gods and they get a five-minute reprieve from the Untouchable's wrath. Or ten minutes. Or whatever. Basically, make it much more desirable to be racking up comm kills. Of course, the Untouchable would have to keep track of the grace periods, but that shouldn't be too hard. Tangentials: -The Untouchable can't directly kill commanders -Divine vengeance doesn't begin until 15 minutes into the match Those last rules you pretty much did by default, but it might be good to codify them. And if this idea doesn't prove fruitful, maybe it'll spark a better. And thanks for all the quality vids, by the way. Having never played any of it's predecessors, I wouldn't have a chance in hell at PA without your explanations and example. Cheers!
Hey, good ideas thanks. Some thought: Not attacking commanders is good. "Untouchable" sounds cool. I think no defences would help quite a bit to deter turtling. Make smaller raiding groups to send at enemies, but nothing too destructive, just something to defend against. A commander kill should allow you to choose a target for a raiding party by the Untouchable. Perhaps teams of 3 to make the game a bit quicker and allow for more sniping of commanders. Perhaps a team of 2 Untouchables to speed it up and make it easier to manage. Perhaps all teams must spawn together. Good ideas, this makes it seem like it might work with some changes.
