This makes all other layers non selectable and their icons, seen from tactical, half transparent. I think this would give easy selection of fabbers for ons. and make it easier to select more precisely in dense areas. sub menus could be added to make the selection very specific. like this: Main menu Q: All Fabbers (When in tactical view, 2 difrent kinds of icons for Idle and Aktive fabbers. Please google planetary annihilation controls or alternatively check the key bindings in settings. These hotkeys, bar the exception of all non-idle fabbers, are already implemented
I have been thinking something similar. I was thinking of it as a layer filter but it would allow you to make units not on the current layer invisible and unselectable. This is especially needed in orbital where for some reason the strat icons seem to get buried under the icons for air and ground. I hate having to rotate the planet so that you can get a view of your orbital units from the side, where they are seen out in space by themselves, to select them.
You misunderstand me. It's not a select all feature. I'm thinking of it like the fabbers are now. If you try to select fabricators with combat units, they automatically deselect the fabbers. These hotkeys would make it possible for all units and not just the combat units. And there is no support for assigning the same key for more then one thing. not that I can see.
I guess I did. . But the same can be achieved by clicking a unit you want and control+Z. Hotkeys can be used for multiple things. It moans about clashes, but it depends on what the clash is. Sometimes there isn't an issue. I do agree that there should be layer hotkeys. Particularly with build queues and so on.
