This is an easy way of splitting your forces in to several groups right out of the factory. it's the same as always. select one or more factories. right click to place a rally point, hold shift if you want to make a route. and the new part: hold ctrl and right click. This makes a new rally point. holding shift after you place the first marker will let you make a route. The factory outcome should be split evenly. that's the main part of this thing. Cool additions might be movable rally points. Drag and drop to make a unit specific placement: select one or more factories. left click and hold on you selected unit, fabber maybe, and place where ever you like. hope you guys like this. dala1984 aka Immotile_Prime at twitch.
I don't see the point to be honest, if I need forces at two separate points ill just give half of my factories one of the rally points and the other half get the other rally point. This might have been reasonable if you only ever built 1 factory, but that's not the case with PA. Mike
what if you want 5 or 10 different rally points. And for them to be unit specific. All Fabrication unit to one place for instant. Yes you could just set one factory to pump out fabbers or one of the other units. This works great in the beginning, but what about later when you need to change things. You select all of you factories change there rally point forget that one factory and you end up with rouge fabbers... you cancel you build order to stop your eco from stalling.. have to do it all again. And when you have 100 factories you rather go around and selecting one at the time and change their unit type and rally point. That would properly not be the way anyone would do it, but I hope this makes my point. Is this not faster: select all bot factories start building your units hold ctrl right click 1 or a 100 times drag and drop fabbers/ small bots/ aa bots what ever... 1 or more places. and you are done. back to the game..
I assumed they would do at least the first part you suggested by release. By which I mean give multiple factories rally points with point-by-point path and patrol. Also, being able to set a factory to assist another factory and produce from that factory's queue and send the unit to it's rally point. Also, being able to set a factory to assist a unit, and all the units that factory makes are given that assist command (so you set factory to assist commander and build 5 fabbers, the 5 fabbers will be created with the command to assist the commander right off the roll.
You can assign groups to different groups of factories. I typically will put some factories in group 9 and others in group 8. You have upto 10 groups to create and you can use anything selectable as part of a group.
Yes I do this to. But I don't think it gives the same result. You have to regroup every time you build a new factory . Still only 2 rally points. Not unit specific.
