I think you should remove this video from this forum. It could be mistaken for advocating piracy. If you want to do anything against it, I'd report it on Youtube.
Quite obvious scam. The PA Client alone is ten times as big. Not to mention that it is pretty impossible to play without server. Report these videos on youtube to get them deleted.
I did report it on youtube already. It just feels sad. I generaly like the growing attention towards PA, but I didn't expect it to go this direction so soon.
I was mailed this last night. I started to investigate it a bit. To even download it, you have to go through an "offer".. Seriously, if you fall for this? You certainly deserve what you get.
I don't really care if people pirate EA games but I got a certain distaste for people who pirate crowdfunded or indie games.
Holy cow. Someone mentioned a measure of a games popularity is their mention in videos, good or bad. But this takes the cake. And i personally think their is a moral limit to piracy. Did i play Kerbal Space Program before i bought it? Yes. I played a friends copy on their computer. But, seeing how a game is is one thing. This game is still being made though, I'm almost against selling it until done. But why would anyone find value in getting a copy of these files? Most people still don't get, the value in a game still in the womb like this one, is nourishing it, not playing it. The criticism is important, all the things its missing must be spoken loudly, but outrage you can't play it properly now is unreasonable. It blows my mind someone would want to skip the building process and play it in its condition regardless.
Hahah, that isn't true at all. Flag spamming any video will get it taken down, Youtube follows the "shoot first, ask questions never" sort of intellectual 'rights'.
I have sent garat a personal message over the weekend with links to quite a few torrents and download sites offering the same video's and so called Alpha rip. It kinda saddens me too to know that people care very little about independent developers. I can't claim to be perfect, i have downloaded my fair share of pirate copied games, but only as educational copies so i can make better decision on endorsing the company that produced the title (I got burned by EA after buying spore, so now i try before i buy)...... But when it comes down to Indie development, i endorse the companies i want to see survive and make new games, i have endorsed many titles in the alpha/beta stage of development. Including, Minecraft, Cobalt, Starforge, Space Engineers, Planetary Annihilation and many more titles. EA can lick my left nut, but indie developers deserve all the respect in the world for not selling out to publishers and making their games crap!!!!!!!!! END of my RANT !!
I feel that game companies should always endeavour to have a playable demo. I got into TES through a $10 game. I bought Halo and some other Microsoft products after trying the demos I've bought several games where a friend has given me a pirated copy of a many years old prequel.
Yes agreed, at least a good sampling of game play to give an end user a taste for the game. It also lets people find games that suite their taste and playing style, A few pictures and a heap of writing can easily deceive someone into thinking their buying something that suits their taste and style of gamplay when it doesn't at all. So videos, pictures and words can be very deceptive, (As shown in those above post about PA scams n rips) Where as actual gameplay cant lie
I did what I could. Disliked all the video and posted comments on everyone saying "fake, virus in link" etc. etc. enough comments about virus in link combined with dislikes and it should make people think twice about it. But yeah, best would be if Uber just reported them
Bought my favorite games on St Petersburg black market, they really put effort into their pirated games with working updates etc, serial keygens etc, and today i own at least 3-4 legitimate versions of Imperium Galactica 2, C&C and the homeworld series. If I see an offer for a game I love I usually buy it, I have 5 working copies of C&C generals. I don't think pirating is a big issue as EA claims it to be, people with purchasing power will always buy the finished legitimate product in anycase, especially if its needed for online play. But they werent virus filled as these videos are though, and please don't misinterpret my post as if I endorse or support these hacker scum. I just want to comment on pirating games in general. If you make a great game then pirating doesn't matter, if you however hype a game up and promises things that are not included in the product you are selling then the likes of EA deserves to lose the sales they would otherwise have earned by fooling the consumers imo.
