I tried builds 57164 and 57449, both failed to show the mouse pointer and so I couldn't get past the first UI. I'm running linux 3.5.0-36-generic x86_64 on Ubuntu 12.10. My laptop is a Samsung Series 9 running a i5 3317U with Intel HD 4000 for graphics.
I'm having the same problem on my Linux laptop. Installed the game through Steam and launched it, but the mouse doesn't show up on the window at all. The game isn't fullscreen, and I can see the mouse move off the window into the desktop. I'm on build 57449. Running Linux Mint 15 (3.8.0-19-generic) with Cinnamon.
This is issue PA#1595 (login with your UberNet credentials to vote) This is most likely Mesa bug. Workaround available here: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/...tu-12-04-13-04-13-10.53019/page-2#post-814965
Awesome! That workaround worked for me. Now I'm discovering just ho under-powered my system really is for this game. Thanks for the quick response!
Also if you planning to play PA on Intel integrated graphics I'm really recommend you to get latest mesa from Xorg-edgers PPA: https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/ archive/ppa As well as latest possible kernel.
What is your GPU? I'm tested PA few days ago on Pentium 2020 with HD2500 and it's working just fine with 3.12 kernel and latest Mesa. Though my HD3000 it's not present good performance on Linux :-(
It's a Dell Latitude E4310, with i5 and Intel GMA HD. I know, not exactly a gaming laptop. I'm not sure what version of Mesa I'm running, how can I check? The other problem I faced was that it didn't launch Full-Screen, so moving around the world with the mouse was really tough.
Yep 1st generation of Intel HD is really slow. Even on Windows this game barely works with such iGPU and on Linux support of everything before Sandy Bridge is too rough. Actually you can check it in package manager tool, e.g synaptic. There is no fullscreen for Mac/Linux yet, but you can force borderless window mode though your window manager.
Hi! so i purchased the game today and got the same error. The cursor in my case, is not viewable at all. Im not able to use anything. To better solve this problem, here are my currently installed mesa packages: libegl1-mesa install libegl1-mesa-drivers install libgl1-mesa-dev install libgl1-mesa-dri install libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 install libgl1-mesa-glx install libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 install libglapi-mesa install libglapi-mesa:i386 install libglu1-mesa install libglu1-mesa:i386 install libopenvg1-mesa install mesa-common-dev install i also can post the actual versions of each package listed. kind regards system: ubuntu 12.04 lts updated. kernel: 3.8.0-34 system: Dell XPS 15 (optirun)
