I was pretty psyched for Monday Night Combat, having never played it before, and hearing tremendous things about it. After a few rounds of Single Player Blitz to get myself familiar with controls and such, I started a LAN Crossfire server and invited my brother. However, the both of us were automatically put on the top two slots, with no apparent way to switch teams, and the game still waiting for more players. Is there a way to play Crossfire with only two players?
The xbox version allows two player private matches (even in split screen), but if the game just sits there not starting for you they probably took it out for the pc version.
Really? I wonder why. Still, I guess I can't do anything about it besides whining. Off to Blitz, I guess.
Game requires a minimum of six to start a match unless you're running a dedicated server. We can look at options to make that less for listen servers or LAN.
I think there's not much reason to put a minimum there at all for LAN games since generally you know ahead of time who you're playing with. If it doesn't make sense for dedicated servers to have the minimum, then it definitely doesn't make sense for LAN games. I would also like to be able to start a crossfire game all by myself just to try things out
I really like this idea because I would like to check out all the maps to see where I can go with my jumpjets. It's a lot easier if people aren't shooting at you all the time.
Ha ha, I know what you mean. I never play tank or gunner, until last night I hadn't touched either class in the pc version. So I'm trying to figure out what jumps I can make and what walls I can get up on to (i.e. getting up onto the walls on the exterior of ammo mule to surprise a sniper camping his bridge) and it'd be a lot easier to figure that stuff out without all the bullets flying around.
Didn't uber send you a free xbox? Just create a private match and you can go anywhere. I don't think the cooldown time would prevent you from getting anywhere, it would just take longer to get to it. I can also teach you some, less known gunner jump jet tricks if you want.
Make a dedicated server, launch MNC, join your server, prepare for countdown. How to get loads of Bacon: Do the same things above, except set game time to 5 mins and overtime to 15 mins in a private match with just yourself or friends.
I would like this feature too, I need to practice on a lot of maps without being killed every 20 seconds.
Start your own password protected, dedicated server. Relaunch MNC and join it. The game will start with just you in the room, and nobody will be able to join and kill you because it is password protected. You have to check "dedicated" because listen servers require a minimum of six people. As it already says here in this thread.
plz add this function in the next patch. i like to learn maps as completely as possible before diving into games and allowing a listen server to start with 1 or 2 players would help me immensely.
