I'm not against AMD it's just if I get an AMD graphics card and it turns out that corrupted AMD software is still on my CP then it's going to break my CP just like the last one. I don't want to re-install windows (to fix the problem) for obvious reasons.

I made a quick search through a few websites and it seems the Gigabyte one is the most popular by a wide margin. Gigabyte's Windforce fans are considered one of the best air cooling solutions for GPU's at the moment. But since you're boycotting the vendor for something that was most likely your fault...

You guys are right, I kinda wanted to get a faster GPU. But if I reinstall windows that will fix the problem I'm having with my Radeon Hd 6670 I could use that, and save some money.

I'm guessing pretty much any semi recent/decent gfx card will be enough for at least smaller games, and more RAM is always a good idea. Also, don't go telling everyone you got this in the humble bundle, they don't like your kind around here :p (j/k)

i keep telling people gigabyte is crap. while being less crap evga is s hit manufacturing quality. here's hoping the exception is with their highest end cards.
go with the first. overclocking gpus is a terrible idea

That is almost identical to my system. With order queueing and good use of patrol I can stay pretty competitive at 10fps. LOL

    Haha. humble bundle noob. Lol.

(May buy PA off humble bundle. I loved being a humble bundle noob in BF3)

For NVIDIA cards, what do you think about branding?

Asus vs EVGA vs whatelse? Which ones do you pay for quality, and which ones do you pay for the brand?

    • Nvidia:
    TL;DR :
    • brand : gigabyte, pny, alot of faceless companies including club3d, palit, evga, asus.
    • quality : also asus, nvidia, twintech, Inno3D, gainward (if you're getting a phantom).

pny is your absolute lowest of the low (you often find theirs a bit cheaper if they aren't selling it at a complete rip-off price) followed closely by club3d. do not buy either. then zotac. gigabyte is a company, a very good company, they know where the market is, does that mean they provide good products? most of the time no. do they sell (and very well at that) a lot of dead-end technologies or make parts that make them seem like they don't know wth the pieces do, they just glue them together? yes. do they overclock the living bejesus out of gpus? yes. do you have an after sales service to go to when their 100-working hours card dies? no. Evga is cheap and pretty much ok, except for their build quality (which I mentioned) on the radiators, which you might find yourself having to change. they do make the best solution for a top-of the line card you're going to place in a water-cooling system. If you understand the terms of their sale exactly then I'd say their after sales service is pretty good (I managed to snag a game key when they told me I couldn't have it because I didn't buy the card off the deal page). MSI is not as wallet-friendly and are also overclock-happy but not as much as gigabyte. I've never really had a problem with asus except maybe that they are expensive (they like to always have he top card in every section) (but I've bought second-hand Asus, it cost me almost nothing and it kicks as s)(their build quality is exceptional). Nvidia stock cards aren't bad at all in my experience, I really couldn't find something to complain about with them, they can be cheap as f uck and just do the darn job. I love twintech but that's just me, cheap, efficient, gets the job done, well ventilated. I don't know that much about point of view but seeing their position they must have made a number of errors and today they're expensive. Palit : sometimes high gamut, crazy as s fans that land in a hole in the market (if you have that much money why not but a closed loop water cooling kit or a full water cooling system for it?), other times it'll be a standard pny type. Inno3D makes the highest-end cooling solutions for their cards. Power color makes a couple nvidias but arn't in their ball park. And gainward have good prices and regular quality products with the exception of their phantom ventilations (better) (and sometimes closed loop water cooling ventilations asus also makes some) worth it? sure why not.

There are a bunch of others. but they are quite nameless, faceless and don't add anything to the stock version.

It's a tough call. if the wallet doesn't allow it then forget about asus and make sure you check what twintech and nvidia have to offer.

If the wallet isn't a problem then you can get a Inno3D. (or an evga WC with a full WC sytem)

My current Gigabyte card has worked flawlessly for the 2000+ hours I've played on it so far.

you've been a lucky fellow, though it may have alot to do with less overclocking and it being an ATI.

Just got a ZOTAC 770Gtx 4gigs. In comparison with 660Gtx TI there a nice improvement.
However when reaching ~1000 units in game i cannot sustain more than 10FPS using Uber settings. In the meantime my GPU is only busy at 50% and graphic memory is fixed at 1.6gigs and does not change over time.

Well I reinstalled windows from scratch.
    Guess what!
It's still broke it's not a Software problem, even better! A Hardware problem! The video cards work fine in other Computers. So it must be the mother board. Guess what, It's also Gigabyte! It's not power issues I have a 750 watt power.
This is the motherboard I own

    Any help?

Found an old "HIS" GPU out in the Garage, it supports HDMI, I will give more info when I get my CP started.

I had a ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 1GB vRam. I thought PA ran okay. Today, I picked up a R9 270x with 2GB vRam. Holy Toledo. The difference is unbelievable. Smooth as ice at 1080p on UBER settings. Looks so beautiful. Card cost me $200 from Amazon.
