Alright, so I have been unable to connect to several games (PA and 7 days to die) and I get a "failed to resolve hostname" message in those games ever since I blue screened while streaming 7 days to die about 3-4 weeks ago. I have been able to use the internet and play games and browse the web this whole time, however, when I go into my command prompt and ping a website like Google, it says that it cannot find the host. Any IP address that I type in works without any problems. I feel like my issue is a DNS issue but I dont know what to do in order to fix it. :/ If someone can help me, I would be much appreciative.

Ill upload a SS of what my client says ss.jpg

Do you use any VPN or proxy?

Also you can try to modify your WiFi connection settings from "Control Panel":
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/change-tcp-ip-settings
Just try to setup "Use the following DNS server addresses" and then use Google DNS:
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4

I have used a VPN before and its still installed on my system, but i have not used it in months. I am changing my DNS preferences right after I post this reply.

EDIT: I changed my DNS to those that you posted, but i still am unable to ping googles hostname.

This is pretty strange, don't sure what you should do.

Can you post output of those two commands?
    Code:
    ipconfig /all
    Code:
    nslookup uberent.com

Also if you just want to play you can do that:
    1. Open this directory:
      C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\
    2. Open "hosts" file with any text editor
    3. Add this line to end of file:
      Code:
      184.72.44.57 uberent.com
    4. Save it.
But this is very dirty hack and most likely you'll get "connection failed" really usually because many game servers are resolved by domain name as well. E.g most of US servers are hosted on Amazon and resolved by domain. :(

Still most of EU servers looks like resolved by IP, so this dirty hack will let you play on them.

PS: Obviously you need to find out what's wrong with your DNS.

Also after you changed settings you should restart your connection, did you do that?

I have not restarted my modem and router since changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Also, I believe that i have purchased a new router in the time period that I havent been able to connect, is it possible that my router is causing some of the DNS issues? I have it set to automatically recieve it from my ISP and my computer automatically pointed to my routers IP for the DNS servers before I manually set them as you suggested to.

Here are those SSs you asked for: ss2.png ss3.png

You should try to go into your router's configuration and see if some setting is misaligned.

As you might notice "DNS Servers" only contain "192.168.1.1" which is address of your router. And "No response from server" mean that DNS server on your router failed for some reason.

Most likely settings you put in your Wireless connection settings wasn't save properly.
I'm recommend you look here again:
    https://forums.uberent.com/threads/unable-to-resolve-hostname.53717/#post-821160
And again try to add DNS servers to your wireless connection settings and then check it with "ifconfig /all".

Alright, I have changed my DNS servers on both windows and my router to the Google DNS addresses, I will now restart both my computer and network devices and post the resulting ipconfig /all command and attempt to ping googles hostname again.

Just for some information you can redirect output from the command line by using greater then symbol.
    Code:
    ping uberent.com > uberping.txt
In attached example shows that DNS and a firewall is blocking the echo reply.

edit: Also tells you if the host is up by resolving the IP address.

I have not been able to ping google even with the DNS changed in both windows and router. Here is a text file of the ipconfig and ping commands. also a SS of the router with the changed DNS addresses.

Can you comment (#) out the entry you made in the hosts file. I would suggest doing ipconfig /displaydns. Please attach displaydns here.

I never made any changes to my host file. I want to fix my DNS issue, not cheat my way to playing the game becuase I do not know the IP address for the other game that this is affecting.

I am able to ping IP addresses such as Googles IP after looking it up, but the IP you just had me try doesnt work. its just times out.

Also, I added the text file with ipconfig /displaydns

That displaydns.txt has a TON of sites that I have never visited, or even heard of.. what are these weird websites?
