First I would like to say, great game. I have recently purchased this game and tried starting it up to play. I have already ran into a problem, when I join a server, or play single player the game starts fine. The game runs fine for a minute or two, then with no justification at all, the screen goes black, comes back and goes black again. After all of this confusion the screen continues to stay black and sounds are repeated over and over. I usually have to task manager out of this problem and it has happened every time I play. Does anyone know what is wrong or know a way to fix it?
Well considering that so many bugs have been occurring in game with a number of people I know, and with the lack of response and or signaling of the staff. I am only allowed to guess at the fact that the staff is either, currently working secretly, or doesn't care. Hopefully these problems get fixed before major release tomorrow, but I guess overall I might be looking for a new game and hopefully a refund.
So I just noticed that a second person with an nVidia has had this. For the record, I've only seen two graphics bugs mentioned in the forum, one of which is occurring on nVidia cards (this one). My first suggestion is to double check that your computer isn't overheating. Other than that, possibly try running the game in windowed mode (sorry, I don't know how to do that, but I've seen someone on the forum who did it, so it's possible). It's not an ideal solution but it might stop crashing while things get fixed. I doubt Uber will be able to fix it until they know what the exact cause is. So far the only thing known is that it affects nVidia cards.
You do realize I responded to you right before you posted this right? It would help to know what exactly your issue is and your hardware spec so we can track it down. Either a dxdiag report or specifics of your video/cpu/driver setup could help, specifically how much ram on your video card. Here's the minimum specs for MNC: OS: XP(SP3)/Vista/Windows 7 Processor: 2 GHz Processor Memory: 1 GB RAM Graphics: DirectX 9.0c/Shader3.0 compatible, VRAM 512 MB (NVIDIA GeForce 7800 series or ATI Radeon X1900) DirectX: 9.0c Hard Drive: 2 GB of free space Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Just quoting this. Tayzer, if you tried anything I suggested earlier, can you tell us if it worked/didn't?
Took a cursory look at your DXDiag report - you have an 8600GT, the other person on the forum reporting this has an 8600GTS. Both are very common cards, so I can't say if it's a pattern or a coincidence.
