do you have bootcamp and a windows partition ??
if you do i have a Performance booster mod for the game that works on the windows version,
im also working on a Mac version, as my windows version didn't work on the mac :( it caused pa.exe to stop working.

i have posted a second revision for the mac (i don't know if it works tho) if you would like to help me test it and get it working im sure it will help benefit your situation.

here's the thread if you want to look it over :)

    That's an interesting idea - I'll give it a shot and update after. It's been 2560 x 1440.

I tried it and mostly discovered that HDR doesn't play nice with my system (black planet and system).

Apparently the settings now include a resolution scaling slider. It appeared to work, so I'll avoid messing with system resolution from now on. The game is (and has been) solidly playable as long as I keep shadows off and stick to not gigantic systems. As orbital is still a bit wonky that suits my tastes anyhow.

I do have bootcamp set up, but avoid it if I can help it. All of the restarting is a pain, and the mac version seems perfectly functional.

if you get black planets when you play a game, go into the game settings and turn HDR off and Anti-Aliasing off "FXAA".

In case you didn't figure it out, that's gatekeeper trying to save you from malware.

Right click the application and choose open and you'll be presented a scary looking dialogue where you can actually open the application.

oh the suspense! the excitement! lol

If you do need to start killing settings, try killing the anti-aliasing before HDR, I got a Radeon HD 7850 (2GB) and it doesn't like the AA, but handles HDR fine.

there should be a drop down box in there to select fullscreen

I recommend changing settings out of game. In game can sometimes cause funny things to happen.

When you select fullcreen and then click save and close, what happens? anything at all? black screen?

EDIT: Oh, and are you logged in? or doing this before logging in?

I am logged in, and If i select, either Widescreen or Fullscreen it auto-re-selects Fullscreen but it still actually windowed.

I can manually pull the window and make it larger but still windowed
