It's a good way to test your computer's ability to handle the game before release going for beta.

True that, one thing the bastards at microsoft need to figure out. Stop paging **** when there is ram available.

That being said, a lot of the stuff loaded into the RAM of PA is extraneous, and I'm pretty sure there is some leaks in there too.

no such thing as overkill on RAM lol, just budget limitations and how many RAM slots you have on your motherboard.

    UPDATE!

    Ok here is my stats:

    2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
    4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB
    OS X 10.9

From what you all said, I should not have any issues.

    BUT

What about OSX 10.9??? I only heard 10.7 and 10.8 referenced.

Give me the good news! haha

with the AMD Radeon HD 6770m we may need to get you to run the game with certain setting turned off in the game (graphics setting) or you may experience the black planet issue.
But apart from that you should be fine.

I'm running 10.9 on a Late 2009 iMac - no significant problems on lowest graphical settings with 3 or fewer smallish planets(12gb ram).

512 mb ram for the Radeon HD 6770 will likely be your biggest problem, and unfortunately it's the hardest to fix.

Not to say don't do it - I've got a HD 4850 512mb and it works, just on low graphics.

ok, I don't like having to run things on low settings :( .

Just as a reference, if it makes any difference, I can run Diablo 3 with everything on HIGH at 2560x1440 with the exception of shadows (MEDIUM).

I thought I was doing good with those settings on D3, i guess not, haha.

change your desktop from its current resolution to a lower one and play the game, the more you lower your desktop res the faster the game runs :p
the game uses the Native desktop resolution , meaning if your mac is displaying 1600x1200 or something wow thats higher than HD

try playing with desktop resolution lowered if you haven't and let me know if it helps on mac :)
    it does on windows xp,vista,7,8
