I'm running windows xp(x64) and games that I host do not show up in the server browser list. The same issue effects two of my friends, who live in completely different states, so I highly doubt it's a port issue. I can join servers without a problem. It makes no difference if I'm running a dedicated, blitz, or listen server, none of them appear in the list. Is there a way to directly join a server via IP? Failing that, is there some guide to setting up a server? I tried the server hosting util to host a dedicated server, but that didn't work either.
Same here. I've forwarded ports 7777 and 7778. I've attempted to host both Crossfire and Blitz. My friends tell me the game does not show up in the list. Any ideas from those of you who can host games successfully?
Got it working. Had to forward: (per http://www.resoo.org/docs/counterstrike ... ports.html) UDP: 27015 and 27020 (default HLDS, SRCDS and HLTV port) TCP: 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port) I did all of them at once, so I can't say which one it was in particular, but it's working fine after that.
there is a sticky that tells you to forward those ports: http://uberent.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=4952
Yes, but I can host other Steam games like L4D and L4D2 without forwarding the "Standard Steam Ports." So something is different with this.
As a test I'm trying to run it without any firewall up. The ONLY ports that are blocked are ones that my ISP blocks by default, and the game still does not show up. Is there some other (simple) test which I can run to find out if, for some bizarre reason, my ISP happens to be blocking port 7777/7778? With the server running netstat shows: UDP 0.0.0.0:7777 *:* UDP 0.0.0.0:7778 *:* EDIT: So...the issue is the router/modem the cable company gave me. They swear that it doesn't block any ports, however it doesn't seem to support me hosting a server, since there's no outgoing connection for it to open a port. It probably works in other games because they handle things a little differently. Unfortunately, I have no control over the router, and my ISP will not give me firewall-settings access.
