I am having an issue of a similar kind, and to avoid creating a new topic, i will post it here, i hope it's not a problem. can you please post you log file? C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\PA-00-00-00.000.txt sort by date and post most recent one. it will help me find issue when PA boots
yes installing game outside of the default steam install dir breaks the game. but if your Steam is set to use a different dir as its defual save , In example another HDD it should be ok. try reinstalling and using default steam dir maybe?.
It still doesn't work, but it seems that it comes from my GPU, but as you may have seen in my dxdiag, i have a recent one so it's very VERY strange.
maybe setting your regional info and default language to English might help. i'm not sure ,, that is just wild stab at trying to fix issue

Well, the dump is not readable by humans, but anyways, here it is. And thanks you a lot for responding, even if you can't find anything . I will also try a complete driver reinstall, to see if that helps, but i'm too lazy to do it now.
No, no 3D vision or anything else, and after completely reinstalling the drivers (at least, using NVidia official tools, which means a single .exe), it still gives me the same error.
i had a dev look over the thread, they need to check the crash report their end (you pc automatically uploads it when game crashes). They couldn't see an issue in what stuff you have posted here, neither could i, you should be able to run the game. Our current best guess is its something else you have installed hardware wise or software wise that might be conflicting. The UI is Java based, what version of Java have you installed? And do you have both the 32bit and 64bit java's installed or just one. also Do you use a virus scanner, and if yes which one? Do you have Stardock software like "Windows Blinds" or "Deskscapes" installed? have you patched UxTheme.dll to use custom skins in windows? maybe i can help find any issue or software that is conflicting if we go through some common ones that cause issues.
