That is all fine. In Theory. But once you do establish some map control, and then also build some turrets for defense, where a few are enough to right now be able to fend off an infinite number of units because of their range and damage, we have the same problem all over again. Exponentially worse. But as i said earlier, maybe the cost will make sure this is in balance eventually, so i don't see a huge problem. But they can't stand in their current state.
Its not theory its fact. Either you build turrets and get a smaller army then your opponent, or you dont. If your opponent has a smaller army hes easy to deal with, just ignore the turrets, dont go near them, take the rest of the map. If you let him take most of the maps AND build turrets, then hes outplaying you from the start and you deserve to lose. If a turret wasent able to handle its mass in units easily there would be absolutely no point in building a turret, they are supposed to be better then units in combat at the cost of being imobile (and thats a HUGE weakness if you just try to use it). That said, i wouldent be against them nerfing the range of turrets a bit so that you can grind them down with small groups (Since they die before getting into range currently). To negate said "infinitive number of units" killing (Unless they have a engineer patrolling ^^, but at least that will drain resources for repairs).
Can i just say that i vastly prefer the single laser tower over the double? it makes the difference between the normal and advanced tower so much clearer.
