There are still a lot of performance issues with the game. You can try the UI mod that limits the frequency of updates to the economy meters that is in the mod section, which improves performance quite a bit in the early game because of an issue with Coherent making a full mem copy of the screen before writing.

Heh, my card's a GTX 560 Ti and I can run the most taxing, straining modern game on my machine. Heck, I can run the original Supreme Commander on the highest settings, and that game was about as optimized as a square basketball.

PA? Nahp. I get like, 30 FPS on a REALLY GOOD DAY. After I restart my computer, close down all non-essential programs and clean my registry. In a 3-4 planet game, that's been going on for maybe an hour or so? Like, 2 FPS. With 30-second long lockups. On the lowest settings.

My orders consist of drag-selecting my entire army, right clicking on the enemy base, and placing a metal extractor once every minute or two.

The lag in this game is determined by three factors

1- do you have a machine that is god like like me? if so then proceed to 2
2-Are your drivers up to date?
3-Do you have a fast internet connection capable of high rates, if not then you'll get lag no matter how amazing your pc is, the units and structures are primarily loaded on ubers servers, and I have a feeling units that you can't see are bleeding through the connection, still being rendered and processed, effectively destroying the gaming experience of anyone with a lesser then capable internet connection like me.

wooow this Uber Launcher Mk. II is seriously a pain in my ***, it's taken about 15 minutes to finally get it to connect and patch... and now I have to re download the game... sigh guess it has to wait. I live in the middle of nowhere....

I think it may be both the UI and the shadow.

Came here expecting to see this!

I have a GTX 560 and I've been playing on low graphics settings for a while now. Figured there is no point in striking a balance between pretty and fast whilst the game is in alpha/beta. Once the renderer is optimised etc, I'll try bumping up the settings!

Shadows are usually computationally expensive, one of the first things to disable if you want an FPS boost.

Your graphics driver is out of date. Current version from Sep 18, 2013.
There's also some other things you can do like disable shadows, trees, antialiasing, and HDR. (the lowest settings) After doing all this it still doesn't help upload UberProbe give as much details as possible.

I think his drivers is okay. It's just get stable status on Sep 18, but driver itself built many days before.

SSX, you're probably right. But I've seen some we are dates with dxdiag. One of the dates was from December of this year. A another one what's from early 2000s, the card did indeed in exist. Reinstalling the driver wouldn't hurt I thought.

rick10454 , did any of workarounds help? If they didn't UberProbe would be a good thing to do. So they can fix the issue in an future update. You could try the beta drivers see if that helps.

As I understand UberProbe it's performance monitoring tool, it's won't help to fix black screen issues.

He had these issues before build 55430. Several previous posts he commented on leg and CPU utilization. Also rick104547 might think he has a i7 4960X when DxDiag as showing Core i5 760 that could be an issue here.
