I bet you constantly find yourself saying "Gee willikers I am quite the gutter trash when it comes to playing The Assassin colon less than sign" Well here's a few tips and things to keep in mind while playing The Assassin.

Here's some things to keep in mind.

Not all the classes names, The Assassin's most notably, play like they sound. At least not efficiently. If I could change the name of The Assassin it would probably be Effin' Base Destroyer Supreme. That doesn't mean you can't go for kills. It just really isn't your job. You kill bots. All the bots and all the turrets for the matter. Rather easily I might add.

The Assassin's grapple isn't effected by CDR endorsements until you have the sword. The default cooldown is 15(It might actually be 10 I'll have to do a test.) seconds on the dagger and the sword.

The Assassin has the fastest Juice gain rate.

The Assassin and The Sniper have a 300 base health. This pretty much means with out an armor endorsement you pretty much get one shot by anything mid game and beyond.

The smoke bomb does pretty much jack and POOP against players, but stuns bots and turrets for a huge amount of time. It also gives you massive jump height for the next second or so. It also gives you 1 second of 50% damage reduction. Not that you will ever notice it because if its a hectic escape 50% probably isn't going to save your life especially not 1 second of it. Oh and uh you can't be knocked back at level 3 smoke bomb. Again only for 1 second. You can still be grappled though.

Unfortunately the smoke bomb animation can be "canceled" into another smoke bomb animation. So double tapping in a panic situation will often lead to your demise.

The Annilator comes up every 3 minutes. Be on it like a hawk.

If you got some spare cash and aren't buying the annilator buy some bots or turrets. Stay away from Laser Blazors though. Unless you want a tank to get JUICE and destroy your entire base.

Also don't buy longshots or ANYTHING other Rockit Turrets at the money ball nubs. But don't buy longshots in general just switch to support and get all the kills forever with gapshot spam. Which is hilarious mind you.

    Now some tips.

Cloaking is pretty much useless. I mean you can use it to scout and dodge turret and bot aggro, and if it is level 3 after cloaking for a second then firing your shuriken gun causes them to all be critical hits adding to your murdering stationary objects ability. But it's pretty much terrible. Also don't cloak and sprint. You become more visible the more you move while cloaked.

The dagger and sword do an additional 1.5 times damage if you hit a player in the back.

You do additional damage with the grapple from behind the player over twice as much with the sword. Not as big of a boost with the dagger still pretty big. Like almost twice as much damage.

FACE STABBING IS A SURE FIRE WAY TO GET TOSSED RIGHT IN THE DUMPSTER. I want to change this slightly. Face stabbing is alright early game if coupled with a lunge. Anytime past early game it's generally bad.

With the dagger or sword out you can press your reload key to charge in the direction you are facing and hitting the first target for like 2.25 times normal melee damage which is increased again by 1.5 times the amount if you hit them in the back.

The shuriken gun does much more DEEPS than the dagger or sword does to the money ball. Always shoot the thing from a distance or high up. Utilize the smoke bomb jump in combination with JUICE to shred a money ball into nothing and make nerds cry.

Always ALWAYS BE SITTING ON THE ANNILATOR! I can't stress this enough. You gain so much money from your amazing pushing abilities you need to spend it on ejectors and annilators. Once your team has positional map advantage you have a lot more room to roam safely which means yes. YOU CAN GO FOR KILLS COLON D!

Buying JUICE isn't something I would really spend money on. Maybe if you are denying the enemy team JUICE or trying to solo push early and the lanes are both pushed but they are turtling and have the extra money. But it's really better later on in the game to let your assaults, tanks, and gunners buy JUICE because they can't get it as easily as you.

Be wary of SHAVICE and The Snipers freeze traps. The turrets slow effect and The Snipers frozen effect both reveal your terrible cloak.

Your smoke bomb as I've mentioned earlier will stun bots and turrets. It will not stun the Jack Bot however.

As The Assassin you spawn the bot "Gremlins" at the bot spawner. These devious little imps are invisible and will focus on going after players instead of turrets. Utilize Gremlins to put extra damage on turtling players. I wouldn't rely on it though but in a hectic situation dealing with Gremlins surrounding you is next to impossible when trying to confront an assassin. Unless you are a tank.

I'll add more tips and tricks plus my incite on the game as I think of or discover more things.

EDIT 14 or something: Here's a video full description on page 2.

Don't say "Only buy Rock-Its", because then everyone proceeds to ignore the ShaveIce.

The cloak is anything but useless. It makes an assassin nearly impossible to track in the midst of bullet rain and bots. Aside from mobility (see Assassin Quick Tips thread), the cloak is her greatest asset.

    Okay, second greatest asset. Heyoo!

I agree with a lot of this. It was actually informative. I didn't know there was a lunge multiplier, for example.

I do contend a few points. Of course, cloak. I like cloak, cloak is good, cloak feeds the family.

Face Stab. Face Stab is good if you know who you're using it on. The other part of that is catching them unawares from the front. You can one shot snipers, support, other assassins and assault with face stabs. It is tough, since they will be trying to grapple you and their grapple will take priority. All you have to do is feint and make them waste a grapple and then swoop in.

Even better, step forward, keep well out of range, when they grapple - LUNGE then Grapple. You can even do this with your beefy targets, provided you weakened them.

Smoking a Pro is viable. It's especially good on heavier targets if you went after your upgrades. Drop behind them, smoke, lunge, backstab. If they're not dead, they're still blind for what may be long enough to finish the job.

I'm not saying you're wrong or I'm right. I think it comes down to play style.

I like to read a battlefield with height and cloak three, and then start throwing a monkey wrench into it. It's just play style difference. You destroy bases, I destroy pros - which is exactly what you want happening when you have two Assassins on your team.

You can't facestab a support if they run armor 2 or have passive 3.

Snipers and Assassins cannot be one shot by facestabs if they have armor 2.

Also I know I misspelled Shave Ice. I'm not going to change it because I enjoy the sound of my misspelling.

Oh and the reason cloak is bad is because you aren't actually invisible and you have the need to blow into a vuvuzela when ever cloaked. On the other hand though causing paranoia then playing off of it is a good way to throw off some players into looking for you instead of pushing. So it does have its uses yes, but the negatives generally outweigh the positives.

I think the point of cloak in my opinion is to simply sneak past the front lines. Once you're ready to attack you should turn off the cloak about 10 meters away, lunge and proceed to destroy them.

Also I lol'd at the vuvuzela comment.

i disagree with a lot of this, but if you play like this you will probably play well with the assassin.

use ejectors and the annihalator always, target bots and turrets when unguarded, hit pros that dont notice you yet and have low health, and dont rely on cloak completely.

once you do that, you can then unlearn some of it. like cloak for instance, its useful when you know how to use it, but for n00bs its best to pretend you dont have it untill you learn to use it to walk by at a distance. IE if you walk up to someone cloaked, they are going to shoot you, so you have no reason to think "how did he know i was there?", because you can still be seen, you just dont have color so they dont see you from AS FAR. ANYONE IS GOING TO SEE YOU POINT BLANK, THATS NOT WHAT THE CLOAK IS FOR.

but yes, use the annihalator please, instead of trying to play cloaked-assgrab with enemy pros? then you wont hate using the assassin?

I'm probably going to record a few games of me playing the assassin as a video supplement eventually.

I'm leaving out a lot of things in this guide because I feel they are common knowledge. I'll look into updating the guide again when I don't have a throbbing headache.

I assume there are a hand full of class mindset/guidelines/tutorial videos out there and if not I'll attempt to make a few. Or just livestream me playing a couple rounds with some buddies.

If you are new(or old) and looking for a group to play with or hang out with just add me on steam and I'll send you my vent info. Then I'll try to get a few games in with you.

Here's the first attempt at showing my gameplay. Nothing too amazing just a look at how I play.

I'm sort of a hypocrite in this video by buying JUICE but the reason I bought it was because I didn't really trust my team to do anything with it and didn't want the enemy team grabbing it.

It's also a semi inhouse two friends are on the enemy team and one friend on my team. They kind of get a little mad. My situational awareness or lack of kind of shows in this game.
