I'll give you a new reason. Taunt is the new deploy. Taunting in front of lasers gives you mad juice for any class.

This. Even the lowest health classes can pull this off, assuming it's not hacked. A turret that does very little damage and can give any class a quick, free juice doesn't seem like something that should be a part of the game.

I think the burn effect is a simpler, better idea,

It wouldn't last long, but it could kill more and force a quicker retreat.

a middle ground of damage is my vote. something between the old damage and the current damage.

or make it not give enemies juice so quickly. if not directly than make it drain ever so slightly so it doesnt pay off a full juice before death.

but seriously, whoever builds a lazorblazor and walks away from it so the enemy can juice, deserves to have their copy of the game revoked until they take MNC classes (not necesarily from peachypony, but somebody).

what i do, is sometimes i build them, and watch them from around a corner. once a tank deploys or an assassin taunts, shotgun them. i promise you they will not juice off of your shotgun blast, they will simply die... and come back to try their luck again, just to get blasted. they will either be taught to forget about the idea that lazors ever even gave juice or you will get a free uberstreak entirely off of taunting opponents.

All these suggestions on burn effects and skill drains and juice drains are god awful. The old damage of the lazer blazer was nasty as hell. I'd agree with BroTranquility for a middle ground between the two. I'd also agree with whomever said about reducing the juice gain from deploy and taunting.

The burn effect will simply mean Assassins get killed even more due to fire.
The juice drain will just mean shorter juice, and if that's the problem, make a topic about how you want juice to not last as long.
The skill drain will be a ****-ish idea to everyone entering the base. I think people forget scramblers are for skill drain, hopefully they will be good with the next DLC :0!

change the power to the original. there ws no problem with the original damage.

it was only changed because skanks moaned that they died too easy...but with a bit of thought they could have avoided it

I showed my friend Goofball one of Hudson's tank videos of him getting juice like 7 times in a row off of 1 LB.

He hasn't built one since. :D

This will make it even easier to get juice from LBs in safety. At least now, if its not hacked, you have to be somewhat close to the rest of their base.

The damage Lazers do isn't the problem, the Juice gain while deployed/taunting is the issue. Fortunately, it has been fixed. I think Skill reduction would be an awesome, but would be more fitting with the ShaveIce - perhaps a LVL3 ShaveIce could have less health than now, but drain Skills at the same rate as a Sniper's LVL3 Trap?

What's with the Laser hate? I thought they're pretty effective, especially against bots.

I'll restate the conundrum for your benefit. A level 1 Rocket is at least as effective as a level 3 laser. The key difference in destructive capability is the rapid fire of the laser vs. the splash damage of the rocket. What makes lasers useless is that they have the capability to give players juice (not on PC, will most likely be fixed on 360).
