A new HUD based in some suggestions of my previous thread: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=5883 MNC HUD is great, nothing to say about the artwork... fantastic. Only 3 thing bother me in the current layout: chat (never pay attention and cant read with that tiny font), kills info (very hard to identify which team belong the kills), skill level (never look to know if is full or not). Remember, some itens are not present in current game and this are only a proposals... so the screen seems to be more "polluted" that normal. Chat, kill info, Radial menu, life level will only appear when requested. current UI (click for fullsize) HUD with Radial Menu ON and new Reticle/Life info (click for fullsize) Now i will try to explain all these parts: 1) Team Logo 2) Moneyball life level 3) Moneyball Protection. Works like in NHL when someone scores... light and buzzer will get all attention 4) Round Time. Numbers can blink or this clock can be hide and go slide up when Overtime come 5) Round Count. For gamemodes that request more then 1 round per map A - Normal mode 1) Your position (arrow with your team color) 2) Team members 3) Team Moneyball 4) Enemies 5) Direction to the enemie Moneyball (if your not so close) B - Sponsor mode Minimap can be cover sometimes, just for a few seconds, by sponsors or by Bulleyes (when he's appear). Nothing new, self-explained. Only thing is keep team colors for all nicknames. Much more easier to identify 1) Selected character with your team colors 2) money available 3) Selected weapon and bullets count 1) Juice level bar 2) Skill level 3) Skill charger (if is ready, glow and show this green bar below) A - just a reskin of current B - life and weapon bullet levels add 1) life level 2) reticle (assault for this example) 3) weapon bullets level works like in Left 4 Dead. Hold a button to show Radial Menu then move mouse to some option. Release the button and get the action. [ attack ] 1) Attack by the left 2) Attack by the middle 3) Attack by the right [ requests ] 4) Spawn Bots 5) Protect Moneyball 6) Build Turrets [ defence ] 7) Defend the right 8) Defend the middle 9) Defend the left [ actions ] 10) Laugh 11) Help (can add a icon above of the player head to alert your team) 12) Taunt 13) Reticle B (life and bullets levels) ------------- hope you enjoy it
Re: ** new HUD ** If you want them to allow players to create custom UI mods for themselves, that would be fine so long as it would be easy for them to implement, but I don't think it would be. Also, although your artworks looks pretty amazing, It just doesn't feel like MNC. MINIMAP IS A NO! :| edit: You also realize that xbox players would be highly furious if the PC got so much extra content and customization, right? Such as minimaps, etc. :?:
Re: ** new HUD ** I like it, except for two things 1. Minimap is a no. People should need to stay aware of their surroundings by actually looking around. 2. There's no reason to take up space with a picture of your character in a 3rd-person game. You already see your guy right in front of you all the time.

Re: ** new HUD ** Too much visual clutter. Less bars, less info, no minimap, heck you could forgo the crosshair in this and just live with a small note if you're low on health and you'd still know enough

Re: ** new HUD ** I'm talking about the how the HUD is constructed not how it looks. I'm for less cluttered HUD as possible but we have lots of info to convey in the game. We had a minimap for the longest time and took it out because you end up playing the minimap game not the real game.
Re: ** new HUD ** no problem, this artwork is not intended to fit exaclty as MNC artwork... is just a layout suggestion. i prefer score at top and i think this will get more attention from both teams because i never see when moneyball is unprotected and attacked (most of american sport have a light buzzer when someone scores lol - this remind me American Gladiator ). i prefer skills at middle to see what/when is full... chat with some background... Dont know if will have customizations, but this can be used as study at least. i think minimap is a kind of useless too, all maps are very smalls for that. I just predicted the area and how sponsors can interact with that for those who would like a map Agreed with character at corner... my idea was add what sponsors (perks icons) that's in use for that class but was not good and i remove. thx guys :geek:

Just get rid of the minimap, and it's a great idea. But like everyone says, need to change the look. Then again, as you said, you weren't proposing a look, just the layout. So it's all good!
