    Hi all,

Firstly let me apologise if this is not how to report bugs (I've been part of the alpha and beta and as of yet have been blissfully ignorant as I discovered no issues). Today however after my steam client updated the game I now can't even boot to the main menu (I have also downloaded the launcher and tried that to no avail same issue). I get a black screen and a windows wait Icon. My DXDiag info is attached but I've made sure I'm on the latest drivers (ATI HD7970 on Catalyst 13,9 Windows 7 64bit). I have seen some similar posts regarding black screens but they were for other Operating systems so I thought I'd post this issue as well.

Again really sorry if this isn't the right place. I spent a good honest time searching on the forums for specific posts about builds with issues or bug reports but its currently 9 am for me in the UK and I haven't even had a cuppa yet so I may be completely missing something :)

Please can you try to open directory where game installed, then try to open bin_x86 directory and try to run PA.exe from here? This might show if 32-bit version affected too or not.

If you seen cursor it's sounds great because it's mean it's not startup problem.

Okay, second thing you can try is this. Open directory where game installed, then open "media", create directory "user" in it, open it, then create directory "log".
So full path will be like that:
    PA_DIRECTORY/media/user/log/

Then start PA normally and wait before it's crash. Now check log directory, upload log file here on forum.

P.S. Sorry just to add the game doesn't CTD. It just sits there. I mean I went away from my machine with it loading like this for a good 30 minutes and when I came back it was the same. If I alt + tab out or more often three finger salute it I see the typical windows prompt PA.exe has crashed click cancel etc...

You game crash because of this:
    Code:

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Man I do not know! I'm using some Logitech headphones that I believe pipe sound to the software to render the fake "surround sound" they offer. Really nice headphones as well. Now I know what I'm looking for I'll start digging into my sound devices. I'll give you a heads up if I find anything. Thank you so much for the support :)

    FIXED!!!!

SSX You sir are a Legend!

So to clarify for anyone else having issues that may read this issue! Check what Windows has your sound device set as! My issue was that Windows decided my motherboards onboard sound card was being used instead of my proper device. There was nothing plugged into the jacks on my mobo at the back so the card was reporting nothing! Silly things eh :)
