the loader says i have 54757 already and doesnt try to update but each time i start the game it says i do not have the right version
In the PA folder there is a text file called version.txt. I changed this to say 54757 and it seems to be working. Might not, but at this stage it seems OK.
Well, it doesn't seem to work so I wouldn't worry. There doesn't seem to be any proper way to uninstall PA, I was hoping to wipe it then start again.
If you are getting permission errors it's because you're running a version of windows that has stricter security settings. Mine does that too, and I'm on Win 8 x64. I wouldn't worry about it. Changing the versions file just tricks the game into starting. But it hasn't been patched, so it's not gonna work.
Republishing build right now. No need to repeat you can't get patch. There was a problem with the client push. When prepping it, I had a conflict between the chair and the keyboard.
Well the Second map I loaded was fine so must just be a random bug. If Uber want to chase it down the timestamps from the screen shots should help working when it was running.
what i did was open notepad++ as admin edited the version file to say i have 54757 and then the update happened. opening regular notepad as admin might also work.
I have deleted my PA folder, gone back to the PA Beta email and started the download process again. Not sure if it will work but it's sating 54757 so it's potentially promising.
Patching correctly now. Please don't delete your builds. It was simply an error, folks. These things happen, especially when Marc is having a massive allergy attack and sneezing through the push build process.
