Hello, I was just wondering if its possible to have 2 starting planets. I wanted to make a team based game that started each team on a separate planet, but it seems that I can only choose 1 starting planet in a game. I don't know if this is not implemented yet in the beta or its even going to be in the final game, but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
As of right now there is not. The feature has been confirmed by devs and has been discussed in the forums, but it has not been added. As far as I know, because orbital has not been fleshed out yet and is only a first iteration on what the devs are planning for it (which seems to include a massive expansion of it), I will doubt we will see multiplanet starts before then. Also orbital transport is limited and glitch right now, I'm pretty sure its the major cause for delaying this feature.
It's not possible right now but until they add the unit cannon or mass inter-planetary transport I really wouldn't recommend it anyway. Starting on two planets is a good way to force a really boring stalemate as there's not really any way to mount an assault on a fortified planet just now.
This is something that will enable players to make games where commanders will be forced to go orbital and expand to other planets. For example, two commanders might start on different planets that are only size 1 or 2. Therefore, the commanders must expand to larger planets in the system to amass enough resources to find and kill the other commander. It just opens the game up to so many scenarios when players can spawn on differing planets.
and this is what i love about this game you can put up so many scenarios with systems and planets were not only macro and micro skill counts but also the understanding of how the different enviroment on planets is build up instead of using the same mirrored maps that you play and train to death intead you have to constanly adapt to the new planets generated even though there might be a few similarities to one or another..i personaly find that far more intresting
